Steelers hiring McCarthy

Here come the excuses. lol

Hey, look at the bright side...at least they didn't hire Flores. You might have had a complete emotional breakdown.

Yeah, having a top 5 offense in 10 out of 18 years means nothing. Not 17th or 26th like Shula's D, top 5. Four #1 offenses. Happens all the time.

Bltch away, my man. You're really good at it. Maybe ignore the fact again that they did virtually interview your boy, and cry and whine some more about it. That'd be a good place to start. ✌️
And you are good at being a dick congrats.

And I thought you were smart enough to understand a virtual interview is nothing special.

But you want hard to be right I know….sorry the process gets a F grade.

We will see how smart you look when all of my concerns come true.

4-5 is better than 2-7 where I went to school. Carry on.
No they both weren’t good enough genius. You know SBs why we watch the game ?

Carry on.

Only reason some fans weren’t up to date on coordinator possibles is they felt Mike wasn’t going anywhere. We were pleasantly surprised when whatever happened behind closed doors resulted in MT stepping down. Then the search for many started…

Its hard to kick against the pricks huh?? I was wondering why your goofy azz kept acting slow in the comments and then I did research on a lot of your more recent comments regarding Tomlin and it explains why your bytch azz so caught up in what i said. HIT DOGS HOLLER! That also explains all the posturing and acting all sanctimonius with your fake azz acting like you really concerned about the masses when its really about you trying to deflect regarding a post you feel some way about because it applies to you and the others I specifically pointed out.

I really hope you’re right. It just seems like the Steelers puts onus on things that shouldn’t be a priority in hiring a coach. I was very vocal about hating the fact the Steelers prioritized political agendas over hiring the best coach with Tomlin. Now they’re prioritizing the fact McCarthy is from Pittsburgh… like who cares. Hire the best coach.
Political agenda in what way? you mean to tell me black men dont deserve to be involved in a hiring process for jobs??

Sure all skin pigmentations deserve to be involved in a hiring process. A true one. Not a fake interview so that a rule requirement can be satisfied.

First of all if black people didnt continue to be looked at as property rather then equals it wouldnt have come to that. 2nd, if anything its a social agenda not a political one. There's a huge difference. yall dont seem to know the difference which in and of itself is telling. For example if a player chooses to kneel in protest of unfair/bias treatment of blacks in police encounters then thats a social agenda not a political one. same with someone who says we need to create a more fair hiring process across all platforms. in what way shape or form is that political?

Is this a political site?...I may have joined the wrong forum.

I know the difference just fine. My comment was pretty clear it didn’t touch on anything political. I could care less what category it falls in.

I am 100 %for equality I even fought for it. Being it is a football forum my convo will end with that.

3) The Mike McCarthy Is a White Mike Tomlin fallacy. Yeah, McCarthy won a Super Bowl in Green Bay, things got stale, and they fired him in mid-2018 after he went 4-7-1. Fine. The Packers went 2-2 the rest of that year, and have gone 3-6 in the playoffs since. He spends 5 years in Dallas, goes 12-5 in seasons when Dak is healthy, goes 1-3 in the playoffs, then gets fired. Fine. The Cowboys go 7-9-1 in 2025, with Dak. He's put together a long, solid career with an 11-11 record in the playoffs, and at least he's won a postseason game in this decade. Tomlin is 8-12 in the playoffs and hasn't smelled a win since 2016. Unlike MT, McCarthy didn't inherit a stacked team, either. The Packers went 4-12 under Mike Sherman in 2005.

I don't like the hire, I wanted the unknown young and possible up and comer, but here we are...HOWEVER, I'm willing to see who his coordinators are.

I also want to point out, he wasn't fired in Dallas. They failed to reach an extension. Then ended up hiring his offensive coordinator. So they are still running a Mccarthy style offense in Dallas.

That's a soft firing.

McCarthy's coordinators in Dallas were overall good. While all the DCs didn't work out, Zimmer and Nolan were well-respected DCs over the course of their careers and Quinn is now a head coach.

Over Tomlin's entire 19-year tenure, he had LeBeau, Haley, Munchak, Smith, and Arians as former and future NFL head coaches, correct? McCarthy had 5 during his time in Dallas alone.

The level of self delusion in here amongst some is almost at the same level of that in the Steelers front office. Not even worth direct responses. The data is all there and McCarthy, if he’s such a prized commodity, why was he out of work for a year with no one other than AR2 knocking on the door this year, with so many spots available. I understand the idea of trying to make lemonade out of a big bag of lemons, but damn, at least admit that the process was a sham and the thinking at the top needs to change.

Mike Tomlin and Sean McDermott are also about to be out of work for a year.

He was hired to fix a woeful offense, not a longterm fix. You want Steeler fans to curl up in the fetal position but it ain't happening and YOU are the one that's mad.

59 posts in 12 years, lmao.

Speaking of the sham interview process let us look at time frame of the hiring process to further support my debate:

Start to finish

Noll -43 days
Wild Bill- 27 days
Mike T- 18 days
Omar and Andy’s buddy - 12 days and two Rooney rule interviews later

SB here we come!

Mike Tomlin and Sean McDermott are also about to be out of work for a year.
Only because they want to. its not the same thing and you know it regarding the level of interest that would be from teams imo.

Here’s my honest opinion on Mike McCarthy. He’s the bleached version of Mike Tomlin. We did not improve with this hire whatsoever. BUT there’s still hope depending on who he hires as offensive and defensive coordinators,
McCarthy improves over MT in that 1) He's a better OC right now than any we've had in a decade and 2) He shouldn't meddle as much with the defense and might actually hire a competent DC

Assuming it's true that the Rooneys have an issue with paying coordinators and assistants that may be a problem. we know they can be tight in the pocketbook based upon the field and training facilities for sure.
