Rooney knows he's about done and selfishly wants to shoot for a winning record and maybe a playoff win while he's still there and doesn't want to waste his last years on a rebuild.
I can be your drinking assistant. I'll work for vet min and 18 year old gold label macallan. hell just give me the 18 year old Macallan you can keep the money.I'm available. Might as well add me to the list...
The offense has a good chance to be better though.
I am glad Tomlin is gone, nothing to do with DEI, everything to do with his "body of work." As far as Karma...your point is like the religious person who points at their baby surviving a collapsed building after an earthquake....they tell you it's a miracle their baby survived, but ignore the other 38 people who were crushed and mangled to death in the same building.Welp....Poetic Justice for you clowns that kept referring to Tomlin as a DEI hire and showed 100% disrespect at his leaving. I dont believe in karma, but I do believe you reap what you sow.
But his job will be chief hernia detectorI can be your drinking assistant. I'll work for vet min and 18 year old gold label macallan. hell just give me the 18 year old Macallan you can keep the money.
If he wins a Lombardi with Tomlins players hed get more credit than Tomlin doing it with Cowhers players.I going to try to be optimistic.
But first...
What if Coach McCarthy wins a SB in the first two years with Coach Tomlin's players??? BWAHAHAHA!!!
Ok. Back to seriousness.
Hopefully, he can entice Scheelhaase to come in as the OC. It will take some of the bitterness off of this decision. And I'd be extremely impressed if they wrangle the secondary coach from Seattle.
Stay away from Ty Simpson. See what you have in Will Howard and bring in Malik Willis to push him.
Tell the Rooney's that WE MUST HAVE A WR2 in the offense and lure George back to Pittsburgh.
Do all that...and I'll be the supportive fan that I usually am...
I swear this guy reminds me so much like his grandfather. So odd coming from an upbeat, energetic, inspiring, active leader like the Deuce
I won't do it again, but that jagoff is constantly regurgitating that B.S. here(in the football forum) and it seems like it's allowed to go on and on. He disappears for a while and then comes right back with the Fox News zombie talk.Kentucky actually did, however, mention DEI and all that jazz. So, you're right in that they should both keep the politcal stuff in the political forum.
well s hit. lolBut his job will be chief hernia detector
So call out the ICE angle also ....if you truly don't have dog in the fight. You might want to go back and read Kentucky's posts. I don't have a dog in the fight, but, they seemed less to do with football and more to do with politics and trying to antagonize one particular poster. Either way, I don't care ... It's stupid and childish.
Anyone who thinks the Steelers are Super Bowl ready are borderline retarded. If it weren't for all the injuries in Baltimore and Cincy they don't even make the playoffs. Reality matters, I call it like I see it. This team isn't close, a HC getting AARP benefits isn't the answer.I'm at a loss about the HC hire. He must have had some incriminating evidence on Rooney.
I'm sorry, but this does not invigorate the fan base and I doubt it does for the team either.
Why go away from the standard of hiring a young up and coming guy to go with a retread coach?
The only thing I can think of is
- He told them he'd work for free
- They want him to develop Howard for a couple of years
- They plan to draft a QB high this year they want him to develop
- They feel the team is super bowl ready and only needs a vet coach to get them across the finish line
This move makes absolutely zero sense to me. It's not to bring Rodgers back either for anyone thinking that since I think Rodgers was a main reason he was fired from Green Bay.
I guess it's time to take a deep breath and see how things play out. If it's anything like Dallas and his last few years at Green Bay it will be high expectations, but coming up short.
Will the Steelers supply dependa for free? Is he the AARP recommend coach.
We can’t see the forest for the trees.I don’t understand why we couldn’t wait to interview Sheelhause and Shula until next week. The only way this makes sense is if both of those guys let it be known they didn’t want to coach here, and that would half to be because there is some flaw in the way the Rooneys are running the organization. We will probably never know the truth
I’m pissed, something stinks.
dude,,,, smhRooney likes Yes men that will hang out with him. He caught wind of Jerry Jones and McCarthy drinking Johhny Walker and eating steak many a night and can't wait to get in on the fun. He could never do that with a young guy.
I thought I did that in post #326 when I said: "Kentucky actually did, however, mention DEI and all that jazz. So, you're right in that they should both keep the politcal stuff in the political forum."So call out the ICE angle also ....if you truly don't have dog in the fight.
Fool us once shame on them. Fool us twice?Find myself completely underwhelmed by the hire. But on the positive side... Mccarty is after all a better football coach than Tomlin, so why can't that be enough ffs?
The idea of hiring a coach off of the couch when we all had some delusion of actually seeing the franchise switching up direction. And that is my own damn fault
