Steelers - Eagles preseason game thread

I am starting to think Spillane is just a guy and had some good plays playing over his head and we gave him too much credit. He is just too slow. I don’t even think he is hurt.
Spillane has always had a good motor. That motor in the first 2 pre-season games has not been typically Spillane. There is something wrong! He's a capable guy he's just not 100%. I remember him as a rookie on the Titans and early in his career always giving a better effort....he is not a lazy player but he doesn't look like himself out there.

Yes, absolutely. Lets see him get reps against the ones instead of Mason. We know Mason's ceiling is mediocrity. Let's see something else.

And for God's sake Chuks.... and Green.... block somebody.

Najee looks good though! Got hit in the backfield and gained 6 yards!
Better yet let’s hope neither see the field this year.

Ya know I kinda get a good feeling about Haskins when I watch him play. I can't say the same for Rudolph. That was a Free Play for Haskins and he made them pay. WTG Haskins.

Nothing really to see between Rudoph and Haskins again tonight. Rudolph did fine. His deep completion to DJ was beautiful. But his protection wasn;t great and didn't have many opportunities to push it downfield.

Haskins has been OK. Hard to evaluate because he's playing mostly vs scrubs. He had a rough start but started moving the ball as the Eagles DL got gassed.

Offense is still really vanilla. From all accounts, the TEs will be bigger parts of the offense but have bot been used thus far aside from blocking, but that seems to be more of what they want to evaluate with this group.

Maybe. I like him but he is making bad decisions and running in molasses.

Looking good against their backups. No bonehead stuff by anyone and we're running the ball well. All positive things.

I don’t think Haskins is in the running for 2nd Qb, and cutting Rudolph and replacing him with Haskins or Dobbs would cost them a million dollars in cap space, so he isn’t getting released… therefore, they shouldn’t play Rudolph the rest of the preseason and give the other two more looks

More I see from Haskins the more I want to see him run the first team offense.

Holy **** Layne made a play.

lazy finish by samuels who should be worried about his job

If the steelers aren't happy with the RB depth, they may have a trade partner with the eagles who have Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard, Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell (looks to be their 3rd down back), and Kerryon Johnson.

Kerryon Johnson or Jordan Howard would be qaulity depth if the steelers aren't happy with McFarland, Ballage, or Snell. McFarland having a pretty good game tonight though.

At what point do we talk about Dan Moore getting first team reps over Okorafor? He's having another solid game tonight.

Kevin Dotson is a man among boys out there. He's destroying people off the line of scrimmage.

I mean he still makes a ton of mistakes… he is at least a year from being rehabilitated from the Washington catastrophe he had… i want to see him higher up in the rotation just to see where he really is…

i still think there is a very legit chance that he ends up on the practice squad if dobbs lights it up… I don’t think he is as secure as people think…

they really let the kid pick up bad habits over in Duh C … he has some serious arm… he just needs rebuilding

That is Haskins 4th TD drive in 2 pre-season games. I'd say he's our #2 QB right now! Lets see what he does against a first team Defense next week!

I have the Eagles broadcast. Ross Tucker can't understand why Eagles are not rotating that DL at all on a very hot and humid night. He figures Eagles must be looking to find who is tough and will keep fighting while being exhausted. That seems to be the only explanation because that drive was too easy just pushing them around.

I think there is a slim chance he doesn't make the roster and tonight he made a solid case to stick.
