Steelers bringing in Suisham to work with Boz

I'm all for it. Apparently nobody beat Boz out of his job.

I'm not really confident in Boz right now, but we know he CAN kick. Hopefully, Suisham can fix the wrong in him. I like this move. I wouldn't trust any kicker that was on his couch for this Sunday.

Forbath was very impressive per all reports and the Steelers are keeping him on stand by. This is all about the 4.8 million salray cap hit for next year. Boz is not the best choice to end the season as the kicker, he is shot and I don;t care if he goes perfect Sunday he is going to miss more critical kicks this year.

stand-by for what? Ball scratcher? Three games left and he was brought in to make kicks. If he was impressive, then put Boz on IR and let him come back next year with a new vigor.

LOL, a little guidance is all he needs, Steelers will never admit they were wrong and eat his 5 year $19M contract, keep dreaming

I agree but the article is right her, more Tomlin stupidity. I don;t give a **** how good Boswell looks in practice, he is **** in the games and Forbath is a proven kicker who was 32-38 last year, a proven commodity.

it wasn't directed at you, but at the stupidity to keep him on "stand-by". So, they brought in a guy with the same stats as Boz's, kicks good in the tryout, but gun shy to pull the trigger? Well, lets see what Suisham can accomplish. . . I can see them not wanting to give up on their $4.8M kicker.

The 4.8 million is fairly irrelevant. You can pay him 1.2 million a year to sit at home and not push the ball right and give his base to someone who can make the kicks or you can pay him the bonus and the base and watch him miss.

Well, looks like his job is safe for at least one more week. MT better hope a missed FG doesn't cost them the game this week.

His salary may be irrelevant, but I still think it matters to them whether to push him to the curb.

Why didn't they do something like this weeks ago when it was clear Boswell was in a rut? BTW, I am fine with this move.

Tomlin is a ******* idiot

Tells the press they are willing to explore options to replace their kicker and holding open tryouts days before they have the biggest game of the season coming up.

Putting pressure on the one guy on the roster that you wouldn’t want to feel pressure in what probably could be a close game. LOL

So let me get this straight. (I'm putting this all in one thread)

1). Problem 1: Kicker can't hit it through the uprights.
Fix: Bring in an old kicker to "work with" Boz, and keep Forbath "on hold".
Danny Smith can't coach him, so see what Suisham can do.
Suishamto Boz: "Stop ******* missing". Problem solved.
BRILLIANT

2). Problem 2: Defense can't cover ****
Fix: Demote your best slot corner and put in someone who hasn't shown you **** since last time we played the *pats. That extra inch or two in height will solve it.
Fix: Go back to Artie Burns who has been burned every time he reentered the game since he was demoted.
BRILLIANT

3). Problem 3: Head coach can't coach for ****.
Fix: Embrace it, acknowledge it, and own it. Go back to the lab and do the same ****. Cover Gronk with Vince.
BRILLIANT

4). Problem 4: Defensive coordinator sucks.
Fix: See 2 and 3 above. Use a 2 DL and let them *** rape us.
BRILLIANT

I dont doubt handing someone 4 million dollars to not do there job would be difficult. At the end of the day you are paying someone to kick field goals. It's hard not to picture someone else doing it more reliably for a net sum of zero or even a slight savings.

Tomlin has Steelers hard at work on next gameplan

Aditi Kinkhabwala@AKinkhabwala

C Maurkice Pouncey told me the #Steelers watched Space Jam at their meeting Wednesday and that coach Mike Tomlin then passed out Space Juice.

Then what’s the point of our special teams coach?

Is Danny Smith a former kicker? Has he ever had a mental block (yips) to deal with? I agree that Smith’s squads have not looked good. But I’m glad the team is trying something with Boz. The guy CAN kick. He is under contract, he’s Won games for us several times including six kicks in KC. The BEST thing that could happen would be for Boz to again become a killer B.

DANNY has been mentally blocked nearly this entire season......................................................................... If they can't find a better kicker then try to repair the one we've got. Can't blame them for trying because at least coaching has decided to do something instead of sitting on their hands.

Salute the nation
