that does sound tasty - definite beer food though. I'll drink one for you.
As to the long and winding discussion, stats are really only indicators, but not proof of anything in and of themselves. To illustrate, one of my favorite stats from a few years back was an anti-Duke hoops fan telling me (a Duke Hoops fan) that Duke gets half as many penalties called against them than they draw. His conclusion - Ref bias for Duke. My conclusion, when you are winning in hoops at the end of a game the other team intentionally fouls you to stop the clock. Duke is rarely behind in games (at least then - this year, not so much). How does that apply here? well, how did teams attack these two players? Did Balt and Washington run at Spillane more? Did the Steelers use Bush and Spillane in the same capacity and ask them to do the same things? Not all things are equal in the game of football from player to player, team to team, scheme to scheme. So, take those stats as indicators then sit down and watch tape and see what pops out. No, not what you recollect seeing during the game...I mean actual film analysis. I do wish I had time and the rewind package to do it. I would love to sit down and analyze every game - not just for this. What I really want to look at is the OL and running game, but that is a different thread.
