Sources – Brown Requests Trade

More than anything, I'm just sad. Very sad.

We had such a promising core of Bell, Bryant, Brown and Big Ben and they pissed it all away.

One thing I refuse to do is blame Tomlin, or the organization, for the selfish, petty behaviour of superstar, multi-millonaire millenials.

**** these guys. **** Martavis for throwing away a promising career cause he couldn't not smoke weed for a few months a year. **** Bell for being such prima donna, me-first *******. And **** AB for following in the footsteps of the drama queen, selfish, navel-gazing Steelers WR's that came before him. Nobody cares about your helicopter rides, your gold chains, your fur coats or your ******* Madden covers.

They can all go to hell. This group - with so much promise - let fame and fortune go to their heads before they accomplished much of anything.

Trade AB for players & picks and be done with it. Let's hit the re-set button and get back to Steelers football, where the team - and winning - come before all else.

I disagree 100%. Brown, Bell, Ben's bs over the years is par for the course for the makeup of today's athletes. This is who they are and what they are capable of in this me first twitter culture.

The right leadership: head coach, gm, owner can limit and manage this ****. Can they stop every incident? Of course not, but they can diffuse/manage/soothe Brown type personalities if possible, cut if necessary and needed those that don't fit.

Tomlin has enabled and fed this culture. Hire a new head coach, wipe the slate clean from the past, set the new culture and all this calms down.

Why does this **** always happen to the bengals, browns, jags and almost never to the pats, eagles, saints, ravens? Culture and leadership

AB don't care. So you take a hell of a cap hit and trade him, or you have a disgruntled player that might not show up on gameday, or you can the coach. I know we'd all take door number 3 but likely that is not in the Rooney's list of options....What a cluster!@#$

Clusterfuck is exactly right.

I defended him in in another thread about the speeding ticket, in hindsight I was probably wrong. It seems AB is all about himself and a me before the team kinda guy.

Problem is our franchise QB has maybe two years (three at most) before he's done, losing one of the best receivers in franchise history would kill whatever window Ben has left. Don't think trading or releasing Brown are good options.

People seem to think AB has an issue with Tomlin, or getting rid of Tomlin would magically make things better.

Reading the tea leaves, it seems AB's main conflicts are with Ben & Fichtner (and probably the whole goddamn roster for voting JuJu MVP).

So those wanting to appease AB at this point, should be suggesting the team move on from Big Ben & the OC. I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

So AB may be left outside looking in, same ******* situation as with LeVeon. If a guy doesn't want to be here...you can't put a gun to his head to play for the Black & Gold.

That's why I wrote earlier the best move may be to cut the ************ loose, even if he happens to be the best WR in the game, just like Bell was the best RB, or close to it.

What's up with these MF's???? Ben helped AB earn every cent he's ever made playing football. You're gonna bite the hand that feeds you? Now, at this point in both of their careers? Damn.... smh

Was reported that AB never officially asked for a trade. I really think it is the media doing their usual bullshit. AB will be here next year for another productive season.

Lol....*'s as an example.....ravens? Stabbit Ray, Ray Rice.....yeah, no biggie. Saints....bounties, anyone? Alex, i will take short memories for $1000.

No one gives a **** about the eagles saints and ravens, which is why you dont hear about their ****.

Yeah that's why they keep voting Ben TEAM mvp.......

This is hilarious. Quantifying a view based on this award...voted by the players?

Team MVP. You know how many Joe Greene won? Jack Ham, Rocky? 1, 0 and 0. Yeah wonderful measurement for your point.

If, and only if, AB’s antics is related to the Team MVP award he has bigger problems than just being a diva. After the career, he has a long drop to the face of reality. When the cameras are no longer on him every weekend....he’s going to realize it.

if this is about Team MVP, then AB needs a reality check and grow the F up. I will wish in one hand and **** in the other. . .

So if Tomlin lied about ABs reason for not playing, I wonder what really happened to Boz?

Meanwhile you give Ben credit for 2 SB's in which the run game propped him up

Huh? Minus the miracle 75-yard run in 2005 where FWP wasn't touched, the running game wasn't doing jack ****. It was really bad in 2008 when they won on Ben's last minute TD to Holmes. Ben wasn't good in the 2005 SB but the running game hardly propped him up.

You sure you watched those games?

AB meant for that football to hit Ben but he hit Boz in the ankle instead.

How the **** does this turn into a bash Ben post, ******* unbelievable.
So now we haven't won in the past 8 years because Ben isn't a good leader? I thought these were grown men who shouldn't need some one to motivate and lead them? Oh wait that's when we are defending Tomlin.
Looked like Ben was trying to lead on ABs Facebook live video, but AB was to busy being me, me, me in his phone. Should Ben have gone over and grabbed him by the throat?
Sounded like Ben was being a leader wanting to go over hot reads again in practice, but AB was to good for that stuff.

I have to say, If this report is true, this is all on Tomlin. I can't defend Tomlin if a star player, refuses to practice, misses a game, and requests a trade.

It forces the Rooney's hand, and a move must now be made. Do you move AB or fire Tomlin? That is the choice on the table right now for the Rooneys.

Tomlin is now on the hot seat.

Should've been fired last season after that Jax debacle

I was sold on Tomlin in the Killer B era. I thought he finally got it together.

But his trends that have been around since 2009 are taking hold more and more

How do you choose one over other though? If Tomlin goes, it says players run the team. If AB goes, Tomlin thinks he can continue to run team the way he has. Blow it all up? What a mess. I hear ya Cope, I just don’t think there’s an easy fix here. 10+ years of cultivating this culture not only with players, but with coaches too (Peezy). Multiple changes need to be made and unfortunately it’s probably gonna piss away the window we have with Ben. Love him or hate him, franchise QBs are few and far between. Long 20 years between Bradshaw and Ben. I fear some lean times are ahead and we’re gonna all lament this lost opportunity of this era.

Those Ben days are behind us. There is no disciplined structure like it was back then. Ben has cost us games this year. He is still our best option, but without AB, there will be a drastic drop off. That was a terrible Bengals team we played at home...

So, despite reports that several players on the team were lacking focus due to the AB controversy, and their questioning of Tomlin's handling of the situation, you're saying Ben is the main reason they struggled to beat the Bengals?

I am saying that Ben is not nearly as good without AB, or someone with similar talent. It showed. I dont buy the distraction crap. These are grown men with years of playing pro ball. The head coach is a mess.
