Sources – Brown Requests Trade

We definitely aren't trading him as he will hit our books to the tune of $20+ million and wouldn't be on the team. But, AB is all about AB. I would absolutely sit him for the first 3 or 4 games so it will be almost impossible for him to keep his string of 100 catch and 1,000 yard seasons going. That is all he cares about. He could care less about the team or the fans. It is all about his numbers. Of anyone on this team in recent memory, he has shown that more than anyone.

Do you think he'd shut down to extent after that? I read somewhere we'd save a million under the cap if he was traded

Well for one thing, they are not going to fire Tomlin and I think most of us on this board are aware of this. Next, they will not trade AB since he's too prolific a player that would seriously alter their offense and in a bad way, plus they are not going to eat 21 million dollars in dead cap money, it ain't happening gentlemen. So brace for a long off season with what I think will be little change and unfortunately dealing with the possible loss of Munch.

Ben says he didnt see ANYTHING at practice!, "What blowup? I dont know anything about this"..93 the fan

Bwahahahaha

SN is like a bunch of hysterical 12 y/o girls getting together and having their period for the first time

Buy or Sell. Trade Brown to the Raiders.

What Brown did to me is unacceptable, and it's obvious he isn't a team guy. Reports say he wants to be traded.

Trading Brown would a $21 million dead-money salary-cap hit in the process. The Steelers currently have 28.6 million in cap space. However, as I understand it would also take Brown's cap number off the books in 2020 when he's due 18.3 million, and in 2021 when he's due to make 19.5 million, allowing the Steelers to make other moves in the future.

By or Sell. The Raiders offer their 4th overall pick and their 25th pick ( which can be later as this is a traded pick with a team in the playoffs ) for Brown. Would you take it?

This would give the Steelers three first round picks, with a mock draft that would look like

#4 ILB D. White or OLB Josh Allen
#20 DB Greedy Williams or DB DeAndre Baker
#25 WR Parris Campbell

Or they can trade down from the #4 spot and completely dominate the draft.

When you factor in Steelers would have this first round picks for 4-5 years at a very low cap number, its tempting.

Okay, I say do it. We might need to run the ball a bit more without him, but that would not necessarily be a bad thing.

If it plays out as you say with the picks we get in return, sure. Not sure Gruden would do it, but who knows.

Also - do people really think Parris Campbell is a first round guy? I feel like you can get him later. But we would need a WR

Some of the best assets of the Steelers championship teams was a strong locker room. I'm not ready to trade Brown quite yet given the potential cap implications, but if he uses social media or any other methods to undermine the head coach and organization, the Steelers may not have a choice.

So the Raiders are going to send their two top picks....both in the frist round with one a top 5 pick for a guy going into his 10th season and quit on his team? I'm sure they are perfectly happy how the Martavius trade went.

I like mine better

Sell.

Brown has acted horribly, but with his unquestioned work ethic he can be a top 10 wr for another 3-4 years, draft picks dont guarantee you that.

I hate thw way Brown and Bell have acted, Bell is as good as gone, you just can't dump two top 15 players in the whole league. They have acted badly and are grown men responsible for their own mess BUT you half to start to question the leadership of this team's failure to manage the inevitable egos/bs that come with players of this calibur.

Its sadly like the NBA, it's easier to fire Tomlin than replace a top 10 player. Tomlin deserves it too of course

Honestly I do not know if Campbell is a first round guy yet. I like AJ Brown a bit better, but I think comes of the board sooner.

If Campbell is as fast as they say and proves it ( 4.35 or lower ) IMO he's a first round guy, and its pretty much proven Ben works well with speed WR's as long as they have a better pair of hands than say Coates.

When a player openly asks for trade and misses a game that you need to win, move on. Trade him and get what you can. Divorce is coming. I doubt Brown changes. He is who he is, and we've seen a pattern here.

How the players in the locker room view this is another story.

What team ever won a super bowl with a super star diva receiver?

immediately coming to mind - Dallas Cowboys with Michael Irvin. Tampa - Keyshawn Johnson.

Oh my it's getting real. AB has unfollowed the Steelers on Instagram. He's now following the 49ers., PITT OF MISERY.

Cowher, I mean, Tomlin has lost control of his players outside the locker room now.

Good. I still think he's not right in the head and probably that shot Burfect gave him rattled a few things loose.
