So here's how you know Tomlin was out coached,

I do not really know what expectations the Rooney's have anymore.

The last three seasons would get most coaches fired between the 2-4 finish to the 2018 season, the 0-3 finish to last season and the 1-5 finish to this season.

On top of that, the Steelers have gotten their **** pushed in nice and deep in each of their last three playoff games.

What's the standard, exactly? Non-losing seasons?

the offense gave them 7 points

the defense could have prevented TDs on any of the other 3 turnovers but didn't

They got rolled. Not even Fitzpatrick did a thing. Putting a out of shape LB in coverage what just dumb as well. We've been watching this same movie for 11-12 years.

So the last 3 years where we collapsed when the games got big. Or the last two playoff games at home where we gave up 45+, or winning 3 playoff games in 10 years. Has not much to do with him?
I am not a Tomlin guy but he did not play on the field today. our players lost this game for us

The biggest ******* obvious sign was having just played them last week missing our two best defenders, we did well in that game, but Cleveland even while having to work remotely made significant adjustments and beat our *** missing their entire Oline and their play caller,

Come on. Execution counts. The Steelers didn’t execute anything but their own season. Yeah, Tomlin takes plenty and of blame, but the players, most notably Big Ben, ****** this game up from the word go. Literally.

Execution counts, but when the consistency of it is an issue year after ******* year, it's 100% on the coach.

I'm getting to point of questioning why I should care about the Steelers for as long as Tomlin remains the coach.

What's the point when you know with near certainty that the bed is eventually going to be **** in before the season even starts?

I feel so ******* stupid for allowing myself to get the slightest bit excited after the 11-0, as I should have known better.

Its flat out, NOT good enough to get the job done.....IF getting the job done is building and coaching a Super Bowl winning team...

Now winning enough games to make the playoffs with top tier talent?

Good to go.

i didnt say that. i am saying his loss is more on the players

Tonight was a perfect example of Tomlin's shortcomings as a HC:

1. Team came out completely unprepared

2. Down 28-0, 4th & 8 from the Cleveland 38 and he.... PUNTS?????

3. Score early in 3rd, down 19 and he goes for 2?????? WHY????

4. Scores again late in 3rd, can cut the lead to 11 but kicks PAT???? WTF? Are you F'n stupid?????

5. All the momentum in the world, down 12, 4th & 1 at midfield to start the 4th quarter..... and he punts????? You're joking right?

The only thing missing from tonight that sums up Mike Tomlin was a bad challenge and wasting a timeout somewhere along the line. So he missed the perfect game, but he otherwise he pitched a shutout of stupidity tonight.

We lost to a team WITHOUT THEIR HEAD COACH!! Their ******* playcaller and leader was IN HIS BASEMENT!!

With guys on the O line that NEVER played together and don't even know each others names for gods sake...

And our pro bowlers cant even run block.

lol

Tomlin has been propped up by Ben his entire head coaching career. If he’s smart he’ll retire the second Ben hangs them up.

If he was smart he would retire before Ben hangs them up so the media will believe Ben didn't want to play without his HOF coach, LOL

For the past 5 or 6 weeks I have seen a team head to the field with no emotion. I watch the Rats and the **** and every other team come out spitting, screaming, yelling, playing like men possessed. Us? For five weeks we seemed to sleep walk through the first half.

For the past decade I have watched numerous 10, 11, 12 win Steelers teams limp into the playoffs after miserable Decembers, only to show up unprepared and embarrassed. It has been wash, rinse, repeat.

There have been three constants: Tomlin and Ben and Colbert.

We have changed everywhere else. OL coach, Defensive and Offensive Coordinators, RBs, WRs, LBs, OLmen, on and on and on.

Look at the decade. A consistency of winning seasons, followed by late season collapses.

Is it the talent? Not really. We have had very talented teams. Give Colbert a pass.

Is it the QB? Many will say yes, I say no. I'm 75% sure we win some more playoff games with Ben given different coaching.

It's leadership. Period. To come out so un-energetic, so un-prepared, and to get so out-coached so many times this year and for the past decade has to, finally, ultimately, point to the leader. He is a great September and October coach. But he has crashed the high-flying Steelers plane into the ground late season too many times now to escape the fingers being ultimately pointed at him.

Final thought...what is it with this team and critical injuries? It is every damned season we lose not one but 3 or 4 marquee players to season ending injuries. Ben, Shazier, Bush, Dupree...on and on. Is it conditioning or just bad luck?

Regardless, wholesale changes are warranted. We need a new coach.

Tomlin can go **** himself. His teams have been the biggest underachievers year in year out. It took two of the biggest plays in Super Bowl history and one of the best drives to save his sorry *** from a collapse to a team we should have beaten by half time. Did I mention Tomlin can **** off yet.

You just get worn out waiting and waiting for them to fix **** that just moves from one problem to another....Player problems, injuries, abominable coaching, when the hell does it ever end?

Been my point for about the last three years. If you are waiting for Tomlin to fix something in season it won't happen. Because he can't. So clearly the problem was the oline. He will get a new oline coach and try to infuse talent. Thats all he knows how to do.

I was about to compile the exact same summation, but you beat me to it. Great post.

Coaches decision to sit Pouncey last week

As a center I will defend Pouncey. He ****** up but it is way to ******* easy to do in a high stakes game on the first play when you are jacked up. I always preferred to start with my QB under center. Much easier snap.
