I can't see Butler as a head coach.

If they want to move on from Ben cleanly, then fire Tomlin as well, say they are cleaning house. They were looking for a coach when Noll and Cowher retired.

This was all so predictable. The same ol same ol Stillers that have consistently under-produced under the same scenarios for years now, Can't consistently beat marginal teams, can't react to game conditions and adjust strategy's on the fly, repeated underproduction in must win games, end of season let downs and questionable play calling in multiple games during the season.

They are at a precipice now with the cap being certain to gut the team next year....if we even have a next year that is. It will be interesting to see the strategy taken to reverse this ongoing trend.

I'm not A Tomlin basher nor an ardent fan of his either but there is enough of his performance history to justify a change if not for the sake of fan support alone.

Tomlin's mistakes are always magnified by losses. Look at this game.

The situation. It's 4th and 1. We have the ball near mid field down 12 points in Q3. So what does he do? He opts to punt it, netting 39 yards total. And Cleveland scores to boot. Ben would have got the first down in all likely hood. It was a crap call, we needed points, not a punt.

Some interesting data The Steelers were 83.3% in their last three 4th and 1's, Down 12 points, you go for it. But Tomlin denied that chance.

You’re both right, because it’s both. He gets overly involved with the few things he cares about, leaving them worse off and then ignores things that he shouldn’t, which causes more problems. The worst is that he hasn’t and won’t take responsibility for the product. At the end of the day, the buck has to stop at him for that kind of performance.

EXACTLY!!! This team has been buying its own hype every time they string a few wins together for YEARS. It always costs them and Tomlin has never even bothered to rein it in, which suggests he is part of the problem, if not THE problem when it comes to that.
