Because Bell has only once played an entire season. Just once. And I'm not even sure about that. He may have been active at a playoff game that season. So by the math, a player NOT named Leveon Bell would earn $750,000 a game for a 16 game season. Well ****, that's chump change for a guy of HIS talent, you say.
But wait! Bell averages 73% active during games over his career. That means he's missed more than 1/4 of the possible games he could have played over a 4 year period. And he didn't miss them all in one season. That's a trend. He truly averages about 1/4 of the season off.
So, when you're offering Leveon 12 million for the year, you're REALLY offering him 12 million for 12 games. Well, that's a little better. That's a realistic value of 1 million per game he actually plays for you. That doesn't include his signing bonus, roster bonus or other perks. That's just his game day salary. So I'm struggling to see how he's getting his *** handed to him. I really am.
Now if he had helped win a Superbowl? If he'd been instrumental in an AFCC game? That'd be great. But he's never done that. When you need him most - he's either hurt or suspended. So I'd say 1 million per game is pretty ******' good.
