Smith-Schuster’s Appeal Upheld; Iloka’s Reduced

What's the NFL office email again?

Thank you for reducing George Iloka's suspension. It sends a clear message to the defensive players in the league that Antonio Brown is "fair game". With any luck one of the Ravens will put him in an emergency room next week with your blessing!
My message via FB to the official NFL Facebook page.

I just messaged them again and asked if they would make a consideration to allow the Ravens to add an extra man on their roster with the express intent of injuring Antonio Brown.

Consistent much NFL? ******* morons. Players need a new CBA, and the league needs a new commissioner

I posted some news on the comish. Worthy of its own thread.

I have formally asked the NFL guys to create a fantasy ticker for who they believe will take out Brown under the NFL's sanctioned head-hunting rules.

They kinda hate me.

Ok. Just left a voicemail for Troy Vincent asking if the league was moving toward "unofficially" sanctioning head-hunting on top tier receivers like Brown.

I said I knew that sounded ridiculous but given the absurd nature of Iloka's successful appeal was there possibly a movement to "even the playing field" among the top receivers and should someone like Julio Jones also be concerned?

Brutal ruling. I will say this. You should be able to accept multiple deadball fouls in this circumstance. They should have gotten 15 for the personal foul and 15 for the taunt. Also a personal foul on a td should be 15 yards from the point of next offensive scrimmage. Not the kickoff. Kickoffs are jokes now.

This reasoning has me madder than I have ever been at the league:

Jon Runyan, the NFL's vice president of football operations, determined that Smith-Schuster's actions were "dangerous and unsportsmanlike," and that a suspension was warranted.

"Specifically, with 7:10 remaining, on a passing play to a running back, you lined up a defender and delivered a violent and unnecessary blindside shot to his head and neck area," Runyan wrote. "You then 'celebrated' the play by standing over him and taunting him. The contact you made with your opponent placed the opposing player at risk of serious injury and could have been avoided. Your conduct following the hit fell far below the high standards of sportsmanship expected of an NFL player."

please tell me how this does not define the hit on AB!

John Runyon? The dirtiest O-lineman of his era?You can't make this **** up. Didn't know that he went blind, however.

No ****. He would gladly broken somebody's spine when he was playing. Hypocrites all of them.

I agree. What a ****** joke. Punishment needs to be a three part panel. League, players association and a neutral third party. Preferably a former player.

Man the Burfict hit do not matter is his just upset that it was a rookie that layed him out. So get over it. Cry a river a move on you weirdo. Gmoney

If the one-game is for the taunt and not the hit, that is ****** and lame. Don't talk about concussions, player safety, etc. Just don't show up another player. Fine, I get it. Oh, you can power drive a player on the ground, after the play and give him a concussion. That's only one game for that bush league move. I can clearly see how both are equal.

According to the person who upheld JuJu's suspension the taunting wasn't an issue with the suspension. So apparently the league doesn't think a helmet to helmet hit in the head and neck area against a defenseless receiver is as serious as a blindside block.

I called also, hopefully tomorrow morning someone gets carpal tunnel deleting all the new voicemails

I’ve thought that myself. You’re actually rewarding the offending team. They’re guaranteed to get the ball at the 20 now. At least make them start 1st and 25.

I think we all saw this coming, typical of the league office since they started fines and said everyone starts day one, that is but Harrison who got fined in Cleveland game and league said because of past plays. . When two players can chase each other down the sidelines and fight in middle of field, when a TE can run ten yards and go forearm first into a player laying on the field, get one game, all you need to know of how the Steelers are dealt with compared to other teams.

I'm still pissed off about it. How the hell the bungles player gets off with just a fine defies logic. Frat boy Gronk does a non football dirtbag shot that looked like some 70's raiders bs and he gets 1 game, same as juju. They need some former players involved with the NFL judicial system.
