Yesterday JuJu Smith-Schuster received a one game suspension for his hit on Vontaze Burfict against the Bengals on Monday night. Smith-Schuster decided to appeal his suspension and late Tuesday night appeals officer, James Thrash, who heard the appeal decided to uphold the decision. No statement was released, only an announcement of the decision.

George Iloka […]

What a shitshow. The hit on AB was twice as bad. They are using the taunt as a reason. Because if the same hit happened in an AFC championship game tgey would be painted in a corner. Get yourself a lawyer and s judge juju. Then serve the suspension in week 17.

James Thrash? Wasn't he a dirty player? I could be thinking of someone else. What the hell is he doing making decisions about player discipline?

Now I’m in total disbelief.....another knee jerk reaction which has caused more problems than solving one. If it was that bad, why wasn’t JuJu ejected by the refs? Why is James Thrash reviewing JuJu’s and Derrick Brooks reviewing Ioka’s hit? Shouldn’t they be reviewed by the same appeal rep?

This is now officially a complete circus show. How the **** can you reduce Iloka to a fine and not JuJu? JuJu's hit was mostly with his shoulder and he was face to face with Burfict. Iloka targeted AB's head with his helmet. This is ridiculous especially when you look at the reason the league gave for not reducing JuJu's (they are cracking down on these types of plays now). SMH!!!!!!!! The league is being beyond inconsistent here. And Gronk still only got one game when his hit was in another galaxy as compared to JuJu. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's absolute horseshit. I don't even have words for how screwed up that is. This circus is heading to a stop when that cba ends. There's so much **** to fight over on both sides it's not even funny.

So, the Steelers are the new thugs of the NFL. Got it. . .
Yep according to Gruden and ESPN, did you notice during the broadcast they went back at plays that occurred between us and Cincy that resulted in rule changes, and McDonough said "in the 2005, Kimo went low into Palmer's knee", absolutely no mention of him being pushed into him.

yes, I did. Screw the NFL, Gruden and the Bungals, who will be watching the Steelers in the PO AGAIN! Garbage league.

Where in the **** is our ownership. If the Chief was still alive I bet this **** would not happen. The Rooney's have become political *****'s. They hung Ben out to dry and let the league continuously **** with Harrison, and now this bullshit it makes me sick to my stomach.

Well let's hope for a positive outcome against the Rats, a relatively clean game and no injuries. It's a PT game so the whole world will be watching.

How is it that Juju's play occurred in a game and he gets a one game suspension while Gronk drops a blindsided friggin elbow to the back of some dudes neck while he is down and he only gets one game.

Juju's happened in the context of a game while Gronk's happened after a play was over.

Same punishment....SMH!

AB walked off the field, Burfict needed to be carted off. Not that it should matter, but I bet it does.

He was carted off the field, but jumped off the cart as soon as it got into the tunnel. I guess that part doesn't matter to the league.

I think the standing over him is what really is bugging the league..just the block probably results in a fine because this really is his first offense no past problems...its obvious the league is not really worried about the head hit..otherwise Iloka is still suspended and others with head hits during the season would have been suspended...what got under the NFL skin was the taunt

I lost all respect for the Dan Rooney & Art Rooney2 when they let the **** start with Ben and Continue with Harrison, this doesn't even surprise me. There is no continuity in the league whatsoever, and AR2 refuses to stand up for what is right, he is nothing more than a spineless lap dog.

I would have respected them if they would have stood up for Ben and got his non convicted suspension thrown out, then turned around and suspended him for being serial Dumbass. It should have all been handled in house.

Burfict argued with them the whole time that he didn't need a cart and they finally let him get up after they got in the back.

If the one-game is for the taunt and not the hit, that is ****** and lame. Don't talk about concussions, player safety, etc. Just don't show up another player. Fine, I get it. Oh, you can power drive a player on the ground, after the play and give him a concussion. That's only one game for that bush league move. I can clearly see how both are equal.

Ju Ju's hit was harder and it made a scary sound.....case closed.

Jon Runyan, the NFL's vice president of football operations, determined that Smith-Schuster's actions were "dangerous and unsportsmanlike," and that a suspension was warranted.

"Specifically, with 7:10 remaining, on a passing play to a running back, you lined up a defender and delivered a violent and unnecessary blindside shot to his head and neck area," Runyan wrote. "You then 'celebrated' the play by standing over him and taunting him. The contact you made with your opponent placed the opposing player at risk of serious injury and could have been avoided. Your conduct following the hit fell far below the high standards of sportsmanship expected of an NFL player."

please tell me how this does not define the hit on AB!
