Smith handcuffed Wilson

Loved when Ben drew up the plays in the huddle. Been seeing a lot of Ben highlights recently. Boy, do I miss BB. Truly one of the greatest to ever play. I can't think of anyone that had a better pump fake and used it to perfection.

Best pump fake in the history of the NFL. I saw Patty-cake Mahomes tried one and lost it. Called incomplete pass.

Ben’s highlight are many a many. YouTube can pull hundreds of film up. I watch them and full games.

Top m6 in history of the nfl.

Now one thing for sure is don’t even start on the cheating mother ****-er boy comparisons, cheating doesn’t count

Why handcuff a 10+vet unless you don't trust him
I mean....isn't that why you brought in? Isn't it why you switch from Fields to Russ? Bottom line our ownership is still happy so all must be good. Thanks Mr. Rooney.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind Wilson's agent dropped this story to Dulac because the Steelers had absolutely nothing to gain from it. It backups up the rumors between Smith and Wilson, but as the entire thread has pointed out, we know who the problem is.
I thought that game with Cincy was a coming-out party for our offense. We took what they gave us. Went with what was working and stayed with it. Lo and behold.....that was Russ' downfall.....with the coaches anyway.

That's the latest report coming out

I will say, if this latest report is true, that Wilson's camp released the "Smith didn't want Wilson to audible" story line, and it was an effort to deflect how poorly he played over the last 6 games of the year...then there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you can sign him.

Tomlin wants full control. Nobody else can deviate from his plan.
His game plans are perfect.
Never a losing season, greatest coach ever.

I get the feeling these reports are driven by the media that wants Fields at QB...

With the abundance of erroneous reports this season I never take too much stock in anything I read…

it just makes the nonsense worse. You think there are adults working and making lots of money because they are good at this.

Im just tired of the whole team.

Reporting today says Dulac story "Patently false".

Kinkhabwala Claims Dulac’s Report From Wilson Camp

Kinkhabwala didn’t offer another story to either support her rebuttal of Dulac’s report or to give additional context. But she strongly argued against the idea the Steelers removed Wilson’s ability to audible because of the possibility of it being a narrative the quarterback’s camp is trying to create to help his free agent market.

“In talking to coaches and general managers around the league, there’s just not a market for his services right now,” Kinkhabwala reported. “So, when I read something like that, I read this as a desperate ploy to explain why the season ended the way that it did, to assign blame elsewhere, and to perhaps try to create a market here in Pittsburgh for his services.

“The truth is, it’s just not true.”

Wilson’s camp creating a narrative that he wasn’t to blame for the team’s offensive issues late in the season could put a wedge between the quarterback and the Steelers coaching staff. But maybe the quarterback is trying to win over public appeal in the Pittsburgh fan base as much as create a market for himself in free agency.

That, of course, is assuming Kinkbahwala’s refute is more correct than Dulac’s report.

With free agency still five weeks away, this likely won’t be the last time an insider weighs in on Wilson’s relationship with Smith and the Steelers.

A search of Kinkhabwala articles along with having heard her a lot on the radio this season shows she was very pro Fields and more negative about Wilson

Dulac has been more skeptical about Fields and less negative about Wilson..

I think the Media is way too biased. Its not isolated to this... they have an opinion about things and it biases their reporting... and often their relationships with various players and coaches is a huge part of that..

I think its more likely all of these leaks and unnamed insider sources are just the reporters themselves trying to angle the team to favor the guy they want

Agreed I don't believe half of what these guys/gals report. I trust Williamson and Lolley, but they also don't try and speculate as actual fact. They are not shock jocks like most of them. I also understand they are paid by the team, but they seem relatively fair in their analysis. I avoid the Maddens on the radio.

Not to mention that stirring the pot gets more clicks. I pretty much believe nothing I read online nowadays unless there is a specific quote directly attributed to a named person in a position to know.

Almost everything is either clickbait or AI generated.

I actually did see some highlights of the Cheats games. They were so dang good at the short quick slant patterns. Two-step drop and fire. They are almost impossible to cover if the ball is thrown where it needs to be. It pains me that we have never seen those types of play calls on a consistent basis, if at all. The Cheats would go up and down the field doing that.

So, wait a m in, Wilson had the chance to audible out of Run Run Pass Punt, for an entire HALF of football, and didn't do it? Bullshit.

Joe

I also want to add that Wilson had some head to head in Denver. So maybe there is an element of him being difficult .

Important fact to highlight Slash

With free agency still five weeks away, this likely won’t be the last time an insider weighs in on Wilson’s relationship with Smith and the Steelers.

Dulac’s “sources” have been dubious in the past, and other insiders, like SIL highlighted from Aditi K implies Dulac sources are not Player/FO, but rather Team Russ agents attempting to direct the narrative for their client. This is rather more believable given how Russ’s exit from both Seattle and Denver. His obvious on air interaction with Payton had Wilson’s huge team of agents and speakers driving damage control to the “passive blame game” to coaches. Sort of the same thing they’ve done with Art Smith.

It is obvious that Russ felt (blindly) he was the player he was in SEA with the scrambling attempts and holding on to the ball past the 3 sec mark. It even more obvious how fast he deteriorated during the last 5 games. Tomlin has to be responsible (and he knows he is) for not bringing Fields in more as a change up. Smith felt more comfortable with him running his play calls.

I question anything from Gulac and PPG nowadays as “sources” used more or less follows the Athletic method with the saturation of digital media in this day and age.

I don’t know about anyone else here but I’m so ready to waive goodbye to the let Russ cook experiment and move on. I saw enough in his twelve game audition to realize he ain’t it.
Sign Justin to a two to three year deal that you can get out of if it doesn’t work out, provide him with a qualified QB Coach/Passing Coordinator and give him some real weapons.
If he fails in 25 then we have a losing record and draft our QB in 26. We are NOT going to compete for a SB in 25 so let’s just see what we have in Justin.
Damn this franchise under this Rooney really frustrates the hell out of me. No one seems to be at the helm.

That's two separate sources claiming the original story of Smith handcuffing Wilson is false. And that's also two sources saying no chance Wilson is back.

Just wait until after the Super Bowl, when the only stories for the NFL are what teams are planning on doing...OH BOY!!!

Also add in DK Daily Shot (no link but can easily be found on YouTube), today's daily shot.

He doesn't have clicks or radical drive for either way. He says he has reliable inside information that Wilson will not be back.
