Shane Ray Arrested!

It's easy to debate with our aged wisdom how stupid it is for a young man celebrating the end of college and beginning of a professional sports career to get his car searched when pulled over for not being in the right lane.

Which, if it was enforced properly everywhere and to all the middle aged and older ******** on the highways would make me a much happier driver.

I will add all the youngsters driving along while on their cell phones 20 mph under the speed limit while driving parallel to some old guy that can't see past his hood there by completely bottle necking a highway.

He just possibly cost himself millions of dollars in his rookie contract if he falls. So the "Pay your fine son and move on." analogy is fitting because it is going to be one hell of a hit to his payday.

If I were a betting man and I had access to the teams' thought processes, I'd bet that his toe injury impacts his draft status more. The pot will play a part, but I think his initial and biggest reason for sliding will have been the toe and possible surgery/recovery time. If he's there and none of the other "top" Edge guys are, I'd take him.

Yeah not like we have a great running back that would drive to a team plane smoking and driving, eh ? It is the culture these kids live in, most of them smoke weed.

The point being that this is the week of the draft and this moron gets busted. With Bell at least he didn't do anything that stupid prior to being drafted. I think with Bell and I'm not defending him, he got caught up with a bad influence in Blount who is really a dirt bag and that's being kind. Of course we will never know for sure but I'd bet if Blount was never on the team then Bell never has that incident. He doesn't strike me as the type of kid who has that type of character but just got caught up in the moment with Blount who being a bit older probably had his negative influence rub off on Bell for a brief moment and that's all it takes sometimes, a brief moment.

Also with Blount he was clever enough to not be driving knowing damn well all he could get is possession and no DUI. No he made sure he would be in the clear. Bell was just too naïve and influenced too much by this thug.

We are losing Diggy due to this crap, now he will be snatched earlier
That is my worry as well. Through thick and thin, I've felt Diggy is the best fit for us, even with all these higher ranked guys grabbing the limelight.

Hopefully all these morons will still get taken early and we will be able to get diggy, two defensive backs James in the 4th, and that other defensive end with the baggage in the seventh. That would be a good draft even if we have to trade 5 and 6 to move up on one of the defensive backs, it would be nice if we did not have to but if we could get 5 keepers out of this draft that would be great and likely one of the best in a decade. I do not recall hitting five solid picks in a long time.

Shane Ray was arrested cited for possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana, as well as failing to "drive in the right lane of the highway with two or more lanes."

Right there is the real deal...possession of 35 grams or less..pfft, driving in the wrong lane, now there's an idiot move. I hate them people who cruise along in the left lane and purposely drafting one who you already know purposely does this **** is clearly a waste of a pick.

Mark Dominik, former GM in Tampa, was on Mike & Mike and says he thinks the citation drops Ray to anywhere from rounds 2 - 4. Not so much for the possession, but for the timing. He cites "ability v availability" ... ie. you don't do the team any good if you're suspended because of marijuana and the issue with the toe.

Its called a PASSING lane for a reason. And an open F-you to all the jerks on the PA Turnpike who do 55 in the left lane (especially just west of Harrisburg where the speed limit is 70)

Where is your comfort level taking Shane Ray or Randy Gregory? Just curious where people feel ok taking them.

If we pass on an edge rusher in rd 1, no way will Ray be there at 2.22. I just don't believe it. I think we take Gregory in rd 1 if he in there.

I don't think Gregory or Ray get past the Ravens or Cowboys in the first so if we want to take the risk I think we will have the option on at least one if not both.

I def like Gregory more than Ray, but Gregory has more red flags with the pot addiction. Gregory is def a much better player it seems. Ray has a lot of hustle, but not necessarily the explosion you want. Rotoworld compared Ray to Jarvis. I take Gregory if he is there. Let the Cowboys take Ray.

if Gregory isn't there take Diggy, don't know why so many mocks have the Steelers getting CB K Johnson as is he were a surefire 1st rounder

I say let the Cowboys trade up get who they want and get an extra pick

That's an option I didn't think of. They get #22 we get #27 and #91. If Harold or Johnson are the guys we want they'd still be around at #27 likely but we could pick up an extra pick to fill another hole.

I'm all for a trade back, but is an end of the 3rd rounder worth it? I'm not sure.

"I’d like to apologize to my Mother, Fans and prospective NFL teams for my poor judgement Monday morning. I am embarrassed and realize there are consequences for my actions. I was not under the influence nor impaired, therefore I was not detained. Fortunately, Mondays incident only resulted in a citation. I will make better choices in the future"

He sounds like a nice guy, I bet Baltimore takes him

I would still take him in the late 2nd or trade up in the 3rd.

He def won't make it to our pick in rd 2, no way. League insiders think he is a good kid. Just weed a few times, no violence, etc. He doesn't smoke like Gregory does.

Guys are never sorry until they get caught.

The last time we traded down with Dallas in the first it didn't work out as well as we hoped and they were quite happy. ;)

Pretty sad that a bit of weed that causes harm to no one could have such an impact. He could have had a case of bourbon, or 20 cartons of cigarettes or a couple months supply of prescription opiods or whatever......and we would never have heard of this.

Lots of good character people wearing suits have this much in their pocket when they get home from work every day.

Look at our own Bell: Did the Steelers insist he go into a program or get him better advice(not from Mike Adams) on how to self-medicate?

The Steelers traded their 1990 pick (17th overall) to the Dallas Cowboys for Dallas' 1990 pick (21st overall, obtained from Minnesota Vikings) and a third-round pick (82nd overall, obtained from San Francisco 49ers).

With the 17th pick of the 1990 Draft (obtained from the Steelers) the Cowboys picked Emmitt Smith.
