Ryan Clark axed

Loud / Obnoxious / Blow Hard is no way to go through life, you can only get so many “clicks”.

Hopefully this pushes him to find that better environment needed to embrace long term analysis employment.

Maybe he can resort b ack to some of the earlier / sincere days of his career / personality.

Clark was real good when he first started and then switched to bringing the hot takes. I read his interaction with Peter Schrager on air was one of the factors in the decision as well. Crazy they told him he was getting fired during a show today.
 
Honestly they should fire 80% of the guys. Half of them can't speak proper English. If its say a four man show, one guy will make a point and then the three others will repeat what the last guy said because they can't come up with original thoughts. It's painful to listen to Michael Irvin and guys like that......part of the problem is there are too many darn shows and so whatever talent there is, it's spread thin.

Loved him as a player, couldn't stand his intense fury hot takes on topics. Too over the top and yet he grabbed plenty of headlines on this site as well as others.

Yeah well the whole sports media complex has deteriorated in quality along with film, food, art.....just about everything .....it is what it is. I would love to hear what sites all of you like to go to for football and sports in general. The Athletic puts some good stuff out

I was with you until you mentioned film and food. I just saw Odyssey this past weekend and it was phenomenal. Young Washington was also an incredible film and that was just in the last two weeks. Food is another topic that I have contention with because most people don't understand that your food doesn't NEED to come from Walmart. I get 90% of my groceries from a small family farm and the other 10% we grow ourselves. Art is subjective based on the medium and if I may, I'll assume you were focused on music and that I'll agree with you. Whether it's country, pop, or rap (Because Rock music is dead) it's all ****. I don't listen to modern music but when I'm in a store shopping and they have music playing, I'm just blown away at the level of suck.
 
Music isn't music anymore. Its just a bunch of computer generated sound effects strung together.
 
as for Ryan Clark -
many years ago, I was flipping through FB one day and saw a post from a guy I'd grown up with. We went to the same grade school and high school, but weren't "friends" - just knew each other. Anyway, he was in a hospital bed and had a head wrap on. The caption asked for prayers as he was having a brain tumor removed. I wished him well, clicked the like button (because that's what you do), and went to scroll... then I saw hypocycloids at the bottom of the pic.

Scrolled back up and dude had a Steelers bandana he wanted the surgeons to put him on after the surgery.

Now, this was back in the day when people were generally more accessible via social media, so I clicked over to Twitter and sent messages out to some of the players I followed. "Steeler fan is undergoing brain surgery for a tumor in 2 hours. If you have time, could you wish him well?" and included the @ for the guy.

Ryan Clark was the only guy to respond. Not only did he respond, he asked for the guy's phone number. Of course I didn't have it, so I shook the connection tree for mutual friends until i got the phone number. Sent it to Ryan and Ryan called.

After the call, "Jason" sent me a message thanking me - saying that Ryan called and talked to him for 10-15 minutes then asked to pray with him.

while I do not watch any of the talking head shows, I do wonder what could have changed Ryan from being the guy i just described to being one of "hot takes".
 
Supe, I would guess Clark still resembles that off the air. I’ve heard numerous positive stories, even recently about his interactions with fans and have seen it firsthand.

Separating that from his TV personality, I think it was just opportunity. Give hot takes and get more airtime. He was all over the network when his strategy shifted—or maybe that’s what they asked of him.

I don’t think ESPN realizes sports fans want solid analysis and breakdown of games and if they want to debate topics, PTI style works great—less controversial, just discussion-based.

Obviously you can choose to go to a family farm and not Walmart. I am talking about food as a whole. Food is engineered, mast produced, and most farms have been taken over by Monsanto etc etc. Food quality as a whole has deteriorated rapidly. There is no.disputing this.

Personally I can't go watch Ellen Page playing a soldier so ain't gonna watch it but in regard to film deteriorating, list for me a bunch of great films( in your mind). Want to see what you consider great films first.
 
A restaurant owner that i know says the pork doesn't taste right. My mom used to say the same thing back in to 80's. Genetically modified food is everywhere.

Correct, overall food supply is absolute ****, hence the Walmart reference. Hell, last year I couldn't find a can of cream of mushroom soup that wasn't bio-engineered. So, I made my own with scratch ingredients. It's just what we need to do now. Convenience means being poisoned, stuffed with unhealthy oils, and given printed meat. Support local farmers and get good food.

I'm sorry, but you're being small minded if you're going to boycott a movie because some ***** loped off her **** and wants to pretend she's a man. She was on screen a whopping 2-3 minutes of a three-hour movie. It's your loss. Great films are subjective to too many variables and I certainly don't have to justify what I consider a great film to some jag I don't know. Especially someone who doesn't want to see one of the great epics put to the movie screen because some trans ***** has a bit part.
