Russ leaves Cleveland without a deal

No thanks, he had his chance and went 6-6 with a playoff loss. The only positive about his 24 season was it cost the Steelers like $1.64.
Yes, there is no reason the believe Russ takes us anywhere above a 1st round playoff loss again

Did Tomlin and Smith keep his chain too tight on Russ freelancing and unduly constrict him? Probably. Did Russ act like a tool and burn bridges here? Probably. Did Russ play like crap the last 2 games vs. the Rats? Definitely

Rudolph is pretty close to Russ in the constraints of Tomlins cave man offense, and cheaper and less drama.

Maybe no one wants Russ at 20 million+ and we sign him to another one year deal for under 10 million in a few weeks

All of it is rearranging deck chairs on the Titianic until Tomlin is gone anyway. Take the Russ/Rogers money and invest it in younger players that MIGHT still be around after Tomlin leaves

Can the NYG just overpay the man and get it over with already?

Dulac is saying that Tomlin is behind the effort to sign Rodgers, which explains why they let Russ and Wilson explore options even though both the owner and GM said they wanted one of them back.

If you needed anything else to convince you who runs everything in Pittsburgh.
So you say "Russ and Wilson", eh???

Wilson the volleyball???

Russ left NY without a contract as well, the soap opera continues.

Its all for show... Tomlin wanted Russ back... a portion of the fanbase hated that idea

We lowball fields, feign interest in a couple other qbs... Rodgers uses us to get a better deal in NY

Russ does what he did last year, takes a few interviews then signs back here.. Tomlin gets his preference and nobody can criticize the move cause there were no other options left..

Lol or i am too cynical ... could be either things...

You may be right, but at this point, I want Russell back...

He's the right mentor for any younger QB. A-A Ron not so much.

Cleveland resigned Garrett
So the helmet swinger will be there for awhile

We’ve got just the guy on staff to mentor the other QBs in how to deal with getting your skull crashed

Screw Russ, unnecessary
Heck Rudy has a better record than Russ running the kindergarten offense anyway

Draft a QB and keep truckin’
We don’t need any geriatric QBs

I would at this point immediately pull the offer from the narcissist Rodgers and tell him we’re out.
I would sign another backup and just go with Mason as the starter.
Mason can win you at least 8-9 games and even if he fails to do that much we have a losing record.
Do whatever it’s takes to draft in the top five in 26 and draft our QB.
We are not an Aaron Rodgers away from winning anything in 25. Give this nonsense up.
I know what they’re thinking… Sign Rodgers and he wins us that elusive playoff game. This franchise is dysfunctional and dillusional.
