Yes, there is no reason the believe Russ takes us anywhere above a 1st round playoff loss againNo thanks, he had his chance and went 6-6 with a playoff loss. The only positive about his 24 season was it cost the Steelers like $1.64.
Did Tomlin and Smith keep his chain too tight on Russ freelancing and unduly constrict him? Probably. Did Russ act like a tool and burn bridges here? Probably. Did Russ play like crap the last 2 games vs. the Rats? Definitely
Rudolph is pretty close to Russ in the constraints of Tomlins cave man offense, and cheaper and less drama.
Maybe no one wants Russ at 20 million+ and we sign him to another one year deal for under 10 million in a few weeks
All of it is rearranging deck chairs on the Titianic until Tomlin is gone anyway. Take the Russ/Rogers money and invest it in younger players that MIGHT still be around after Tomlin leaves
