There is no question that Vrabel’s actions are not at the top of the list. I don’t know what’s going on between him, his wife and children right now but he not only violated their trust and faith in him as a husband and father, he did in a way that exposed it publicly and embarrassed his family, his wife’s immediate family, his children in their social circle.I certainly don't condone it, but I certainly don't care what these people do in public either. Is it an ethics thing? Is it really? Did Kraft have to sell the team for soliciting prostitution? How about Deflategate? Spygate? No? How about when the Patriots contracted with Brady's company TB12 while claiming to restructure his contracts to save the cheaters 60M; Did Kraft sell the team or was he even questioned about it? If you want blurred lines of ethics, how is Tom allowed to be a national broadcaster and partial owner of a team? Sure, he can't attend in-person meetings or practices but he's still privy to the details (intel) of the material.
But Vrabel should step down for holding hands and smooching on a reporter at a private resort? Seems like the NFL has let a lot of things slide or at the very most, handed down hand slaps for greater transgressions that tarnished the shield than what Vrabel did.
Ethics aside (which is not a trivial matter), he publicly disgraced his relationship with his family. He was frigging stupid beyond words, spending an immense amount of time away from his family during the upcoming season isn’t going to help matters.
