Roethlisberger says retirement remains an option after 2017 season

I cant speak for anyone else but I consume more junk in one day then Brady does in a year. His personal chef has him on this diet. He doesnt even eat night shades. I didnt even know what that was till I read it. His diet is insane and he works out crazy.

He's proof that if you don't have a good physique by the time you're 18, you're never gonna have one no matter how much you work out. Howard Stern always used to ***** about that.
 
It looks like Ben is wearing some protective gear under his GOLD T-SHIRT. As for him being in shape.......He knows what he needs to do and I'll bet he can out run / lift / juke / throw better than 99% (in ALL categories) of those here criticizing him. He will be fine as fuzz

I dont think his version of being in shape and working out is traditional football weights and lifting. He does resistant band training and yoga to lengthen the muscles as opposed to weights which tend to ball them up. But saying he isnt in shape is ridiculous. I bet he does 30 percent more than just about any other qb.

I agree. He doesnt exactly look like any prototype athlete but he is talking about playing into his late 40s. Now Ben has a different game but I think he is really starting to feel it. What I like about Ben is he isnt a robot. You could get virtually anything from Ben. HOF performance or dog ****. Brady is a robot and if you read about his training, eating and basically life its very much like that.

And the average playing career probably is 3 1/2 years and that does take into account guys who simply dont cut it. However, there are physical implications for those that do cut it and play more than that.

My wife wants me to quit, I'm old, most guys don't play this long, there's the CTE thing - but I'll give it everything I've got this season. Drama.
 
Last year he came to camp after saying he had done a lot of cardio leading up to camp. I hope he did the same this year but I certainly don't get that impression. He had nothing on under that yellow t-shirt.

If he plays another 2-3 years and continues the same thing every year. I agree. Drama. If he retires this year. Honesty.

I do like Stafford. The Lions have never really have given him a SB contending team around him. Some decent weapons, but not stellar. I'd like to see what he could do in B&G.
 
I like Stafford but he will command a TON of money.
Steelers don't operate that way. Our next QB will come through the draft in 18' or 19' IMO>

For sure. What I'd like to see and what will happen are usually polar opposites. We may see a Tommy Maddox 2.0. Non threatening vet QB to start until the new, shiny penny is ready.

Honestly when you read the articles it wouldnt surprise me if he ate stem cell rich after birth. His diet is pretty weird and he does all this neuroplasticity **** to expand the efficiency of his decision making. On the one hand you have to admire his commitment but its still pretty out there.
 
I think Ben is done after this year. We might get lucky and have a proven vet want to end his career with the chance to get a ring in 2018 but more than likely if we can use history as a guide, we are in for several years of average QBs. Man we had more than a few post Bradshaw. Here are just a few off the top of my head:

Malone
Woodley
Bubby
Tomczak
Graham
