Per Bleacher Report.....

Now is the best time for crack smoking next Steeler DC people to enter rehab.

Per fan in the Bleacher Retort....

Please post again, next time don't bogart crack.

Also reported on NFL Network.

They'll have an even better defense this year, but what about the offense? A repeat on the Jets? I still wouldn't have hired him as a HC.

I thought his O shortcomings would throw him back as a D coordinator. If he doesn't turn the Bills around it will be that or broadcasting.

yeah, so much for all the 'Rex to the Steelers as DC' **** talk

I hope people truly didn't believe Rex was going to be a DC. Surprised he didn't hold out for a job with a good offense, like Atlanta, but I guess you need to take the job that is offered to you.

I'm feelin he will have a greater say oin player decisions. That bteam isn't far away from contending. Anything for an edge to help fall the flucking patty-cheating-cakes !!!!!!

Salute the nation

Not a bad hire, Ryans teams usually play Brady and the Pats tough.

And I think that is why he would chose the Bills over a team like Atl.

And, in Buffalo, he still doesnt have a franchise QB.....step from one bad situation into another one thats not much better. Maybe hes got a personal vendetta vs Hoodie.........remember that whole "...i dont kiss the rings..." comment years back

That's the only thing I like about it, that he stays in the East. He's been the only one decent at putting up a D that frustrates the Cheats. Unfortunately, he'll never have a good offense. It's not that he doesn't understand offense, he simply doesn't give a **** about it. After a Jets loss, he'd just stand at the podium and talk about defensive stats.

Another job where he has a very good defense to work with, but no starting QB. Perfect!

I read that he wanted to go there, but was "stung" by the fact that they wouldn't commit to a second interview. Definitely would have been a better fit in Atlanta.

By the way, John Fox out in Denver.

Good for Whaley. Ryan is a great fit there.

Bills hire Ryan and John Fox becomes available the next day.

Ryan's winning percentage at NY was under 50%, so what was the reason for his demand as a head coach? Still can't figure it out.

I don't get it either. His defense ranked up there in some categories, but was dead last in Int, fumble recoveries and his team was 24th in points against.

Yes, but terrible offenses will put that kind of pressure even on the best defenses.

I still think that he'd be a great DC, but he'd have to only concentrate on that side of the ball.

Wasn't he there when that terrible O was put together? If so, how is that better? A bad O can make a D look bad. I could understand giving up a lot of points, but how does a bad O cause a D not to be able to get ints or fumbles?

Two AFC Championship games, back to back. He has a Super Bowl ring from 2000 with the Ravens and that Defense. He has a big name and a big personality, Buffalo is often forgot about. This hire is as much about creating a buzz as it is winning football games. Players love him, and a lot of what had happened to the Jets were timely injuries or QB play that was less than stellar, some will overlook that and not put that all on coaching.

Well, for some coaches, I guess they might...
