Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

I don't begrudge him doing what he thinks is right.

Just like I didn't begrudge Bell sitting out a year even though I thought it was a bad decision.

I do think that Rodgers choices are (1) play with us and start, (2) retire, (3) be a backup somewhere...likely for less than what we're offering him.
There will be at least 1, maybe 2 teams that will need a starting QB very early, Rodgers could be waiting for that to happen so that his services are higher in demand.

Add in that the talent pool is lowering continuously. The college portal allows players to jump to the highest bidder, not giving them any long term Developement other than win now baby. No able to work on the extreme details of fine tuning, as in a long term relationship.

That can be argued to be the same as the NFL

Waiting for a training camp injury to a starter is another. Or for a guy like JJ McCarthy to look so bad they give ARod a call.
Good point. There is that 4th option.

It's a pretty bad look for him to be on the couch at the beginning of the year IMO. But so it taking a low-ball offer I guess.

That was the point. Don't need rodgers
Agree, but I want to see the meltdown on the sideline when Shades and Smith tell him not to call audibles or throw over the middle.
I demand entertainment, someone once said.

I know u do. I want change too. But controlling the things I can, I'm rooting for Rudolph to do well in the face of so much unwarranted hate

I also hope Mason gets a chance to be QB1 this year. See what he can do.

**** Rodgers

I hope Howard ascends to be the next in a long list of guys that steals Mason’s lunch and becomes QB1…I know I’m dreaming, but if we can have the future QB1 secured as a 6th it really opens up next year’s potential to stock up and reload the cupboard.

I hope Mason gets his chance leading the team out to a 3-2 start or so but then Howard is just looking so damn good in practice that he gets a couple series and just never looks back. Or better yet, from the total dream world…he pulls a “Roethlisberger” and just goes on a crazy win streak after the veteran QB goes down early with an injury and never looks back.

Alright, alright…I’ll head back down into my peyote den

Even better. No Rodgers.

I could see Howard sitting a year and then having a shot next year. Would be awesome if he was the next Ben.

A Tomlin-Rodgers pairing would probably yield a 20 TD 2 Int type season with the usual 19-16 donneybrooks week in and week out. No signs that Tomlin intends any time soon to eschew the shorten the games limit the possessions philosophy that has become his trademark since Ben's injury.

They'll be 9-8 or 10-7 no matter who the QB is.
That is optimistic if we play like the end of last year. We should be able to handle the browns, but cinci and balt could sweep us. The schedule comes out in a couple weeks so we will see how that looks

Shades will find a way.
Never a losing season, greatest coach everrrrr......

He really believes he has the formula with back to the stone age on offense it's only the results that let him down.

When throwing over the middle has never been more open and protected species for even little receivers, he avoids the MOF like plague because "that's where turnovers happen."

Most coaches use analytics and offensive pace to score more points. Tomlin uses analytics to score less.

Tomlin’s seat has never been HOT until the fire O’Canada chants, then it wasn’t actually his seat.

An owner who extends b blindly.

I don’t see much change of anything. Pat Meyers is still employed for criminy sakes.

We get a pretty good draft, we start to get our hopes up,………… then the p[proverbial GROUNDHOG day.

Get ready for more propaganda over the summer on how Tomlin has never been more energized and focused for the start of the season. Someone will post one of the mindnumbing OTA or TC leader of men pep talks on Twitter and the Rich Eisens of the world hearts will melt. Tomlin wins every offseason.

So we need a new term for most consecutive seasons of media nuthugging a coach with zero playoff success.

Maybe "Eisenships"?

Used in a sentence:

Media darling Mike Tomlin has a record breaking 10 offseason Eisenships! He and his Steelers team have skillfully managed to avoid criticism from the national football media and ownership to overcome the fanbase's deep disappointment.

I'm hoping for the same with Howard. Really like the kid. It may be a longshot, but he has the tools to be a very good NFL quarterback,

That being said, after listening to DK's daily shot today, it's hard not to root for Mason Rudolph. Unlike many of his teammates, he's in town for voluntary OTA's trying to get better. He's out in the community supporting the Pittsburgh marathon. He's happy to be back with the Steelers, and never really wanted to leave. He's the polar opposite of everything Aaron Rodgers represents.

I've been as critical of Rudolph's on-field play as anyone, but here's hoping that he turns the corner and makes something of the second half of his career. He deserves it.

I can see your point here, as we are all aware that this team is realistically a 8-9 win team regardless of the QB.
While I would like to see Rudy succeed to that .500 season, the entertainment factor from the former State Farm salesman and Cool Shades on the sidelines would be intriguing.

Just cuz Tomlin pulls his game plans out of his anus does not mean he’s using anal-ytics

I awoke from my hibernating slumber to this enchanting comment.

Love it!!!
