Every WR we have on the team likely has better hands than Dobbs, and likely run better route trees.
My point was after our top 3 WRs we have Hunter (disappeared after good preseason last year), DHB (a special teamer with bad hands), Eli (destination PUP), Patterson (potential but not ready) and a couple guys that might land a ps role somewhere or other.
The value Dobbs could bring running scout team, QB sneaks, and a couple gadgets...then possibly used as trade bait when injuries pile up could be more than the value DHB (my projected 5th WR) brings to special teams.
My point was not to make Dobbs a WR, or that he is better at WR than DHB. My point was towards how to utilize roster spots and the value he could bring may be more than the very little we know DHB brings. I also know we will not do this, and we will carry more than 4 WRs.
This would also be a positive cap equity play, but that is neither here nor there. Many potential positives with this play, as well as potential negatives.
