Rules: No trades.


1 ) CB Williams. Perhaps the best cover corner in the draft, Williams boasts world-class speed and playmaking ability with good height for the position. He'd upgrade our secondary instantly.


2 ) WR Campbell. A good player in his own right, he'd be great with Ben.


3A ) ILB Pratt Impressive production and NFL upside. A big man, yet he has the feet and speed of a safety. Could be our best ILB as a rookie and a three-down type of player.


3B ) OLB Winovich. A much cheaper option than giving Dupree a long term deal, Winovich has an all-around game.


4 ) DT/DL Buggs. Very productive in college and impressive in teh senior bowl. He'll add some juice to the 4 man rush and has the body to play 3-4 end as well.


5 ) DB I. Johnson. Tall and rangy, I think he'd make a fine free safety.


6A: WR/KR Hart. Nearly uncoverable at the senior bowl. A small guy with elite level quickness and toughness who can be used as a slot WR, a surprise RB, or a kick return man.


6B ) Kicker Gay. His range and accuracy were very impressive.


6C ) Punter Wishnowsky. A big man with a big leg. Can kick for distance, hang time or drop them inside the 20.


7 ) DB Worthington. Has nice triangle numbers in terms of height, weight, and speed. Fairly productive. A good gamble for round seven.

1. Williams, best coverage CB. Debatable. Worse technique. Definitely. Tackling....non existent.

3A. Pratt...while could be a serviceable ILB. Not a play maker. Definitely would need to eclipse Kendra’s Bell as best rookie ILB. Which means he would have to be DROY. So doubtful.

Only you would draft not one but two kickers.......when you can get them cheaper as UDFAs.

I would think the best cover corner would be a guy who has only given up 1 touchdown in two years. (Baker)

Where to start. First, a 6th or 7th round pick is CHEAPER than a veteran free agent.


Secondly, our kicker and punter were horrible. We can upgrade in the draft.


There was news on the web that Williams gave up the least amount of yardage against in the SEC midway through the season and had the lowest completion percentage against. In other words, he can cover.


On Pratt I said he could be our best ILB as a rookie, meaning currently. I'll give you a pass on that one, otherwise, you are 0-3.

I have seen him play too. He's tall, fast and with ball skills. A reliable tackle, but not a big hitter. He's a little raw. Did pretty well at the Senior Bowl. I like him as a deep safety with speed, and range.

Murphy over Baker and Williams?! I'd love to hear this reasoning. I think Murphy can be a bust.


Murphy is a Pac Ten guy, who' s a little small and slow. He has short arms too. I flat out question his recovery speed. He looks like a bit of a long strider. A bit grabby according to what the web says too. He did not run a cone or shuttle at the combine ( why not? ) but did run a 4.55, which is borderline speed for the outside. Usually, the corners who run in that range who start on the outside are much bigger. Yeah he turns well and has ball skills, but in the NFL I think he's in trouble vs. faster and bigger receiver, and better QB's due to his below average traits.

Could be a case of a top college player not translating well into the NFL.

If that’s the case.

RD1- Devin White LB LSU
Maybe his 100 million talk pushes him down some boards.

RD2- Zach Allen DE BC
Cam is going to be 30 this year and we have no contingent plan behind him. This gives Allen a season to bulk up from 280 to 295 and next year be the primary backup. Probably starter year 3. Reminds me of a poor mans JJ Watt.

RD3- Chase Winovich
Steelers seem pretty high on him and I’m getting onboard. Poor mans TJ Watt. But I feel he could do a better job than Dupree and allows us to walk away from him in 2020.

RD3b- Julian Love CB Notre Dame
A good cover two CB. He is technically sound, loose hips, high iq and team player. I feel he would take over for Haden next year.

RD4- Miles Boykin WR Notre Dame
Again a guy I wasn’t watching much until the Steelers showed interest. His stats aren’t breathtaking but he didn’t have great QB play and his sparq is off the charts. I don’t see him falling this far but he’s not on any top 100 board for draft sites yet so who knows.

RD5- Josh Oliver TE SJSU
Small school prospect which isn’t Colbert’s forte but Oliver should be on their radar. 6-5 250 with over 10” hands. Natural pass catcher who is a decent blocker. Perfect #2 to Vance and perhaps #1 in a couple seasons.

RD6- Sheldrick Redwine S Miami
Converted CB who is learning the safety position but has a ton of athletic ability and speed. Just needs to read and react quicker.

RD6b- Jimmy Moreland CB James Madison
Hilton is already unhappy with his exclusive rights tag. Nothing he can do about it so he should sign it and see if the Steelers will talk about long term deal. But since he’s going about it wrong Steelers draft his replacement in round 6.

RD7- Alex Barnes RB Kansas St
You’d think a guy who averaged 5.7 ypc for his career would garner more attention but he’s rated in the 300’s on all draft niks boards I’ve seen. Maybe I’m missing something but he’s 6 3/8, 225lbs, runs a sub 4.6 forty, has massive 10” hands, agile, with rare burst and athleticism.

I’d bring in a kicker and punter to compete as UDFA as well. I think we’d get some decent UDFA with the way Bos and Berry played last year.

Where to start? You don’t even know what you are talking about 9 times out of ten. UDFA kickers/punters are cheaper than drafted players. How many kickers/punters are drafted each year compared to those who are signed as UDFA?

Give me a pass on your stupidity? Nope. That’s is common knowledge here.

Reasoning is Playmakers needed. Murphy is one, has been one. All your BS about Murphy.....questions recovery speed, but he’s a “long strider”? You comment about he not running a cone or shuttle, yet Williams didn’t either. He also quit his position drills after one attempt, when he obviously looked terrible.

Funny Joe Haden didn’t have an exemplary 40 either.....yet here he is, a CB1.

The thread itself is idiotic. “Dream draft” but no trades and be realistic. Please.

They will try to move up in the first regardless and draft one of the Devins. If not successful there they will trade up for Burns as the next OLB. If not there I think they will go with Murphy over Baker. If no ILB in the first they will move up and grab Mack in the second. CB and WR are deep this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they double dip OLB and WR too.

1 Bush -Makes the most sense- although TE TJ would be an attractive option if he was somehow there too.
2. Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia- I like the kid, a productive paymaker. -Or Love if they go CB.Or RB David Montgomery.
3a Winovich OLB- Seems like there is where he would be picked and the Steelers have their eyes on him.Or Chauncey Gardner-Johnson or Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

I realize this is a "Dream" draft but just curious as if we might take a OL somewhere in this draft. I see at least one and it wouldn't surprise me if rnd 4 or later. Just a thought.

You might want to check the pay rate of a 6th or 7th round pick, as it cheaper per year over a UDFA. You're hopeless.


If you said rookie free agent, then you have a leg to stand on.
