Porter feeling forgotten now?

They played Lloyd to do much more than rush the passer; he was great at EVERYTHING. If you think Porter was a better LB than 95, I got some swampland to sell you.

Porter better than Lloyd? Smoke some more shizzie be piss pots.

Can you read? I never said he was better. You were bitching because Porter didn't hit people hard enough. What a stupid ******* statement. Porter had almost 100 sacks and 25 forced fumbles. Lloyd was a great player as well. But that doesn't mean Porter sucks because you are under the delusion that hitting hard is better than sacks or fumbles.

Vader, you might have to translate to multiple languages to get through to him................. I'd try cheatangloish first as he's shown favoritism to that..............................

As said by others (Deljzk for one), Porter should have NEVER been a coach on this team. He had NO credentials but more importantly, he couldn't coach. He used his job as a bouncing board to keep himself relevant in the young players mind. He was sort of living out beyond his playing days by keeping the power over the new guys by acting like he was great and they bought into it. PEEZy needed gone but even at that, Tomlin fell short by not explaining to Joey why he was being non-renued, in plain to the point language and if this was done properly, PEEZy would be silent right now. There are other coaches on this team that NEED replaced and I'm pretty sure Tomlin isn't extended yet due to a wait and see how this season plays out.....................

I think Porter was brought on to help bring some fire to the defense, specifically Jarvis Jones. Porter was always involved in that little pregame player huddle. Even the cadence that the player in the middle called was still the “who ride?” that Porter always shouted out. I think him being on board had more to do with that than his actual ability as a coach. This isn’t an excuse either, just what I truly felt was the reason for porters involvement. Also, Porter can’t be called a scapegoat AND be considered a ****** coach (referring to an earlier post DIC, not yours), in the same breathe. If he was a ****** coach (which he clearly was), then how’s he a scapegoat for anyone? He should’ve been shown the door before this offseason.

Porter dragged QBs down, Lloyd knocked them silly. I'll take Lloyd over Peezy any day, any era, any game, any season, any time. Lloyd should be in top 10 all time Steelers, Peezy ain't even a top 10 LB for the franchise. I'd take Lloyd, Ham, Woodley, Harrison, Bell, Kirkland, Greene, Gildon, Merriweather, Farrior, Shazier, Nickerson, Timmons over 55.

Peezy helped bring a ring in. As did Harrison and Woodley. Peezy gets points for his sack production in route to a ring. Whatever gibberish you are spitting is just that gibberish.

So I guess the answer to my question is you can't read. Porter didn't just drag QBs down. That's you ignorant understanding of how he played. If he did that he wouldn't have 25 forced fumbles. He racked the QBs arm away from the ball while he sacked him. Which is exactly what you want a LB to do. Which again is why he had almost 100 sacks.

Also you have no idea what the **** you are talking about. Nickerson played 16 years and had 21 sacks....21.... and only had 24 forced fumbles. He had tons of tackles because he wrapped up and didn't just go off half cocked hitting people.

Timmons missed tons of tackles because he couldn't break down a play. He missed lots of sacks. Which is why he only had 35.5 sacks and 13 forced fumbles in 11 years.

Gildon was known for falling on QBs that were already down. Which is why he had great sack totals but had only 15 forced fumbles.

But hey I guess hard hits are better than production. ******* hell man.

GREAT post chip but by your reasoning alone,....... He should never have been in the coaching spot he was in. If he was just to be a "rah rah" coach then make him an assistant LB coach. Bring in somebody that has a clue. Look how MUCH BETTER that group performed when the ex-Giants LB coach was brought in just for a week..................... I hear what you are saying on the scapegoat thingy. Joey is gone and we shall see if new guy is worth a **** pretty fast in pre-season.
