we are young in a lot of key places. If we sure up some spots, we will be even better next year. This one hurts now, but will be better down the road. Keep those heads held high.

First team in NFL history to play a playoff game without their top Rusher and WR.. and we still could have won.. Yeah, I'm proud of this team.

yes proud of them

solid effort

I thought Tomlins in game coaching was much improved in the playoffs. I like the way he handled the game situations.

I would of liked to have seen BOS attempt that 50 yarder but that isn't a gimmie and I wasn't down on the field where the wind was blowing.

With that crosswind a fg was anything but sure from that distance. The one that the Broncos got at the end of the half almost sailed wide when the wind caught it. I was ok with the call the way our defense was playing.

No complaints here...

although that facemask penalty hurt badly, and the fumble was a killer.

But they had a chance with three minutes left and three timeouts.

It is what it is, or was: an interesting, roller-coaster season.

Defense was not historically bad, as many had feared. Actually was improving as year went on. Will be tweaked in off season. Should be at least top 10 D next season. Offense should be at least top 5. Salary cap situation looking much improved. Here we go Steelers, here we go.

Apparently I mentioned an "illegal" word in my thread about Burfict. So, I will say most of what I said again. He took out Bell 2 years in a row, AB and Ben. That is NOT a coincidence. He got off easy with a 3 game suspension. Goddell better not cave on that. I think next years games with the Bungholes will be uglier than this year, if that is possible. Either that or there will be ejections from the game in the 1st quarter to try and keep things in check.

BTW: The league needs to change the spot for kickoffs.

They've all but eliminated kickoff returns, one of the most exciting aspects of the game.

if only they can play all backup qbs next year. your high paid qb has a horrible record against starting qbs this year

steelers played 6 backup qbs in a row thats a lame excuse

Ya cause we didn't play without our starting QB for damn near six weeks and that's not counting he was hurt most of the time he was playing. We had the toughest schedule in the league played without starters in every game. If you can't post something positive in the damn pom pom thread stay the **** out. BTW Ben was the only QB in the league to hang 300+ on the Denver defense and he did it both times he played them. If you can't see the upside of this team right now then you're just looking for somthing to ***** about.

Reggie Nelson took out Bell in week 17 last season.

I'll say this Jarvis Jones & Ryan Shazier both look like they have turned the corner. Now if Dupree can come around next season and we can get us some secondary help via the Draft and Senquez Golson comes back and can crack the starting lineup this team should be primed for a run at a Super Bowl Championship next season.

over all great season. we are 1 starting cb away from have a good defense. We will be better next year.

As far as today...

Sammie Coates stepped up today. DHB caught a pass and didn't fumble. defense played well. Jarvis made a few plays.. Shazier is certainly a force on defense. another good game.

Takes time for rookies on D to develop. Although I like one certain USC safety.

I prefer a experienced mid tier and above type of corner.....For a team that isn't too far away IMO.

As most posters have stated. Injuries caught up with the boys. Steelers hung in and fought for all four quarters. In the end it just wasnt enough. For as much as I've been critical of Tomlin, thanks for coaching an injured team into the playoffs and pulling off what you could. Tomlin did better than what most coaches woul've done. Not going to bash him this time. He did what he could this season. Even if the Steelers did pull off this win. I think Marsha and the "bunch" would've overwhelmed us

Tombert has the team headed in the right direction. Those young men played their ***** off today considering the circumstances ... a whole lot of coaches lose the team or let them succumb to "woe is me" thinking after the type of adversity this team faced this year. The fact that this team did not succumb says a whole hell of a lot about the coach's ability to keep them engaged in the mission at hand and about the players themselves.

Villi may turn out to be a good LT.
Coates looks like he has hella upside.
Steeler Nation needs to embrace Fitz and lift him up ... he was doing a helluva good job before the fumble and we may need him again at some time.
Shazier stopped being a ***** and started showing that he has the ability to dominate at this level.
Boz ... nothing more to say
Jarvis turned it up over the last 4-5 games. Want to see more sacks, but his effort against the run and in coverage is vastly improved
Mike Mitchell ... he WAS hurt last year. This dude will be a beast for us

BTW: The league needs to change the spot for kickoffs.

They've all but eliminated kickoff returns, one of the most exciting aspects of the game.

And that's easy to fix, keep it where its at and keep the rules about getting a start at the kickoff, just put the ball on the 40 if the ball is unreturnable. Kickers then will have to work a bit at their craft to kick it deep, but not out of the end zone and put the onus on the receiving team to either run it or down it. Could also move a downed KO to the 15 instead of the 20 to entice a run back.

All things considered, I think we played well and seemed prepared. I'm impressed that Tomlin kicked the FG at the end of the game. I think a lot of coaches would not have made that decision.

I agree with everything but the last part about marsha overwhelming us. I don't think anyone was going to do that to us. This was a special bunch. They had some missteps like the last loss to the ravens . But when push came to shove they stuck together like few teams. That comeback against that shithole of a team from cinci last week was epic. It will live forever. Unfortunately today's hole was too much to climb out of with the injuries.

Boswell likely makes it. Tomlin's decision to punt it after seeing how Berry was doing can be second guessed.

The fumble hurt us the most
