Would rather have had Crews, but when your team lacks both offense and pitching, you gotta make a choice. Being a Pirates fan, it is not surprising they took the pitcher. Just hoping he blossoms in Pittsburgh and we get a few good years out of him before he becomes too expensive and is moved for a bunch A and AA prospects.
rinse...repeat

0-4 since All Star break.
Lost 11-0 last night to Cleveland
12 games under .500

These are the bucs we all know.

No pitching besides Keller. And no hitting....especially when RISP.

Now when does Keller get shipped off for "prospects"? Don't expect Cutch to be around either.

It doesn't seem likely they trade Keller now, as he is under contract for a couple more seasons, but if there is a lot of interest, it might not hurt to listen.

A big problem the Pirates have right now is they have a lot of money (for the Pirates) tied up in Reynolds and Hayes that hasn't yielded much return this season.

Nothing is going to matter until they start acquiring and developing younger stars like they did with McCutchen, Marte, Walker and Cole the last time they were decent.

Henry Davis, Endy Rodriguez and Oneil Cruz show a lot of potential, but so did Gregory Polanco, Josh Bell and Ke'Bryan Hayes.

I’ve heard scuttlebutt that they are looking to move Keller and Bednar. Can’t imagine it’s true.

Keller will be impossible to resign given what starting pitchers get paid and him just starting to tap into his potential.

Nutting might not want to pay the arbitration Keller is sure to get this off season either. Remember by Nutting's standards, he already has a fortune locked up in Reynolds and Hayes.

With two and half years left on his contract, Keller will have even more value to another team than if he was dealt next winter or summer. Definitely doesn't hurt to listen right now.

He'll be traded eventually, but I would personally hold on to him for one more year just to see if the young hitting develops in 2024, allowing the Pirates to maybe compete with him at the top of the rotation next season.

It's all about the potential return out there, but based on what I've read, it's more that the Pirates are willing to trade Keller than are aggressively looking to move him. The same with Bednar.

K. Hayes sucks.

That is all.

He might be the best defensive 3B in baseball, but he has not shown that he can hit consistently at all.

Given the contract they gave him, they're pretty much stuck with him, unless some larger market team with money to burn thinks they can get more out of him than the Pirates have.

Hung out Holderman. Just left him in to take a beating.

Stupid defensive moves too. Bad throws and bad catches by guys who came in cold. The manager is a dolt.
