Pickens being traded to Dallas?

I mean assuming he has a great season and Dallas doesnt retain him, he could be worth a third... but he probably gets a fourth unless he breaks out...

Third round comp picks are gonna hover around 20 million this season, they will go up several million next year... you have to be in the top 5% of contracts... and thats steep these days... i dont think 21 or 22 mil per will get a third next season, and I dont think Pickens is worth superstar money yet... plus if he has the success he needs to get big money, Jerrah will probably find a way to keep him

I just hope getting Metcalf doesn't mean we win one too many games to get as high in the draft as we need to be to get our next franchise QB next year.

Not that I want to tank the 2025 season necessarily - but winning the Cupcake Bowl at most in 2025, vs picking up a possible franchise QB in 2026?

I WOULD LOVE THIS...But Kentucky we would lose our first 8 & all Steeler Nation would be on board for the #1 pick & I would root for us to lose every game if that happened ALL DAY LONG

I don’t think the story that they were trying to trade Pickens during the draft were made up and they only decided to trade him afterwards. I suspect they were disappointed with whatever offers they got and have spent the past two weeks figuring out what they could get.

It is amazing the type of culture Tomlin has started and emboldened here after the nucleus he Inherited have left and finally are gone. Players and coaches. Night and day difference.....in every aspect of the organization.
 
Pickens must have done something post draft to force this move. Otherwise, I can't imagine them not drafting a WR.

Regardless, the Steelers are setting a bad precedent in my opinion for how to deal with bad behavior. Johnson and now Pickens act up to get moved from the team. Is this going to become the norm moving forward for everyone not happy on the roster?

Pickens was under contract and not owed a lot of money. Make him come back and play to earn his next big payday. If he threatened to sit out like Bell did, then let him. It didn't go well for Bell. Don't give him and get rid of people for less value than they are worth with nothing to show for it this year after trading a 2nd and paying the guy 150 mil to finally have two legit receivers.

Bad precedent .....Bad behavior? Where have you been? It has been common knowledge that if you want out of Pittsburgh you simply start complaining and starting issues. Tomlin doesn't want hostages....only volunteers.

Stuff I listened to today stated other players on the team didn't like or respect Pickens. It had to be done. I'm gonna guess other teams knew that. So it wouldn't surprise me they didn't get that 3rd round offer during the draft. Why now? Cause April 2026 is a long way off.

What reports? I’m sure you can find a report to say whatever you want.

You just can’t bring yourself to say this team is being run into the ground Rooney and Tomlin, it’s cool, you be you but don’t look down your nose at people who see today is another example of a long term decline of the franchise with those two as the reason why

I think a 3rd pick for Pickens is a steal for Dallas and someone else would have done before or during the draft.

If the front office didn’t realize that a 3rd is the best they could get and pull the trigger before or during the draft to get his replacement that is their failure to own, amount so many other failures

Totally agree. Everyone acting like that kind of talent is a dime a dozen, it isn’t. If nothing else make him earn his FA worth next year. Unless there’s something we don’t know. “He won’t block”. So what? Throw him the effing ball.
 
Yeah the Steelers front office receives an F for this offseason from me. Absolutely abhorrent offseason.

The offense is somehow even worse than last year and they chose not to draft a WR despite plans to trade George Pickens.

How does any team fan "want the team to lose" for a possible high draft pick next year???

The lost season. I don't care about them trading Pickens but the way the effed the QB situation up, and for whatever reason the went after DK now, WTF.

You watch.....They will still muck around and win enough games to draft in the middle of the pack.
At least Mikey T will have an excuse for his first losing season ever.
I just wish this whole deal would get blown up and everything from Rooney down got replaced.

Not to mention, the one play they love to bring up is from two ******* years ago. This is a dumb ******* move. We are worse now than last year. No QB, WR room ever weaker... I don't think we'll need much ammunition to move up in the draft. This is a 4 win roster right now.

The goal, every year, is to build and field to "win games on Sundays".

The loser mentality to "grab Arch Manning" when the kid hasn't even been QB1 for a whole college season...

Let me clarify....If we started 0-8 then I would start rooting for us to go 0-17...But then I said for all the Tomlin haters it would not happen cause we would win 9 in a row...

But IF WE STARTED 0-8....Hell yeah I would want us to lose out....
