Pickens being traded to Dallas?

Let me quickly add....Tomlin wasn't using him properly. He would look good in silver and blue.

The return will be interesting... if its a third or lower, the Steelers were just cutting bait on him...

If its a second, its basically his value.... so its weird tget werent hoping to play onto camp or the season to get more

If its a first, well then i get trading him... thats too much

If its a player trade.... ugh it depends... hopefully we didnt just do something stupid...

This better be bullshit

Pickens for a third and a pick swap

******* idiotic

There must be more bs from this then... maybe he demanded a trade or threatened a Bell like irrational hold out...

Without a big year, we were not going to get a third round comp pick for him, but thats pretty easy to get at the deadline... when you know if he is breaking out or not and some team is wr desperate

I just get tge idea that the coaching staff doesnt value wrs as much as the league does

Google Pickens name and it's everywhere.

Allows Tomlick to lose this year and say "give it time, we're building a culture here!" and keep that paycheck rolling in for another 3 to 5 years. What a joke of a franchise. Trade for DK and then cancel it out.

If all they get is a pick, ALL of them need to be fired. They could have gotten that in the damn draft and drafted a replacement. I understand a few years of suck are upon us. They are still even ******* that up. The Steelers franchise I've known my whole life is gone.

yep.
if that is the case, why the DK trade? makes no sense

For an alleged 3rd rounder and pick swaps

If the pick swaps don’t favor the Steelers in every swap they do this trade is basically the comp pick they would have got after the cheap one year rental.

Seems like a piss poor trade on surface until all the details come out, but seems like yet another case of not making the team better and getting minimal return for an asset.

There is a well established template for this...
A. Draft a problem Wr ( many are headcases)
B. Get early return on investment
C. Ignore his problems while his value is maximized
D. Trade him below market when things start to really fall apart

Santonio, Antonio, Bryant, Claypool, DJ... now Pickens... its a thing... and there are more... thats the obvious list

We did just do something stupid

Hopefully the Watt trade is coming next since we’re unloading assets in an offseason sale…followed by a Minkah trade, may as well give Cam
a chance at some post season success too (I’m sure a team like the Lions would cough up a 4-5th).

May as well cut bait with any player that isn’t being used properly and will be seeking a contract soon and go full tank mode in classic Pittsburgh style…slow clap for Art Nutting and the product he is fielding.

Even if we were gonna go full tank... you trade guys to maximize asset value

Prior to the start of minicamp but after the draft is the absolute worse time to trade unless a mitigating situation forces it...
