People bitching about Terrell Owens not getting in Hall

Say what? If not statistics, what exactly should be used for determining the greatest players of all time? DUI's? Based upon the rumors I've heard, he clearly would not qualify using that criteria. Maybe he had a bunch of parking and/or speeding tickets. Considering that 'm not intimately familiar with his driving habits, he might need to rely on some other arbitrary, non-football related criteria.

I agree with you about playing until you are ready to quit. I'm surprised more of the greats have not played into their 70's & 80's.

for Football, I think it has to be a combination of statistics and other factors, like did you win...did you lead your team...were you the face of your franchise? Quick hit, name the three best Running Backs of all time... go!

The Hall of Fame is for the game's greatest of all time, and I'm not sure that Terrell Owens qualifies...regardless of statistics. Statistically speaking, Dan Marino is a top 2 or 3 quarterback all time, but there are about 4-5 you'd name before you get to Marino. Manning is statistically superior to Tom Brady, but who's the better QB? Who would you want on the field with 1 minute to go? I'd want Brady...

Thing is, Owens was a complete head-case his entire career, he divided locker rooms, sat out, and had his career cut short not because he couldn't play...but because NOBODY wanted him. If you're a Hall of Famer...you play until you want to stop. Somebody will sign you. Not the case with Owens.

There's tons of HOF ers that got cut at the end of careers....

I know some girls who party in Pittsburgh. They have witnessed Ben's behavior. It is their opinion that Ben surely would act like a total pig, without question, but also said he would never force himself on anyone. Being a pig is pretty uncool, but, it's not illegal.

Considering that he played for 15 years, suffered a torn ACL in 2011 in addition to a torn meniscus in the same knee at the end of 2010, was signed & released by the Seahawks in 2012 at the age of 38, I would say there is much speculation in that assertion.

Many hof players are real life POSs.... Jim brown, oj simpson, joe nameth... Off the field stuff cant be a criteria.. What did they do on the field matters.... Simularly you cant discount a guy cause he has no superbowls... Its a team game.. Dan marino deserves to be in the HOF.. Nothing the nearly retired Bettis did that superbowl season was getting him into the hall of fame... The bulk of his accomplishments were long over by then
