Is there going to be a season?

The East division is gonna be a murderers row. With only 4 teams coming out per division, the Pens are going to have to play well to even get to the playoffs.

With the line-up they have, it's a crapshoot. They seem to have a good team, but who knows. They lost Horney's grit and have a a goalie that hasn't played a full season, but I do have confidence in Jarry. Drop the puck!!

Maybe now that they are rested they’ll have some oomph.
The east is a physical division. Boston, NYI, NJ and the Caps play some hard hitting games

Just saw that the Caps signed Chara. Boston media is pissed. Got him for $795,000. I'm not sure he helps them all that much. The Caps are fast and physical, Chara isn't real fast and I'm not sure how much physical he has left at 43. They have Carlson and Orlov. They signed Schultz, for what that's worth. But after Carlson and Orlov it's just some guys.

Older and slower.
Caps may bully their way to victory though.
Ovechkin, Wilson and Chara is still a lot of physicality

Coaching - Sully, brought back Reirden to coach defense and power-play. From WBS Vellucci coaching forwards and oversee the penalty kill. Buckley extended as goalie coach

Guessing on Lines

Jake - Sid - Kapenen
Rust - Lazy Russian - Zucker
McCann - Janowoski - Rodriguez
Tanev - Bluegar - Sceviour

Dumoulin-Letang
Pettersson-Marino
Matheson-Ceci

Pens extended John Marino 6 years this week. A bargain for the Pens if he can keep up last year's level of play.

Yep...Just like in the days of Lemieux and Jagr when they started to slow down, slow finesse teams simply don't stack up well against heavy hitting teams. Still cannot understand why the Pens went away from the recipe that earned them back to back cups. Maybe the boss keeps trying to win with the formula that eventually failed back in the 90s. Who knows,,,

This is the type of guy you give a long contract too. Seems like a great price as well.

Oof...I think we'll find out pretty quick what sort of team we're going to field this year and how they will stand up. After the last couple years, I have my preconceptions but I hope like hell they are wrong and we can start out 3-0.

Yup- Rest of this month..... @ Flyers, @ Flyers, Caps, Caps, Rags, Rags, @ Bruins, @ Bruins, @ Rags, @ Rags.

Looks like they are doing pretty much back to backs (home or away) not home and away back to backs. Interesting, certainly a baseball and playoff hockey type feel.

This will be the toughest division in the whole NHL. Bodies hitting the floor.

Looks like it's going to be a long short season.

Three of those were Jarry's fault. Three were the flyers screening him. O way there should have been that much activity around our net.

I thought the Pens carried the play for the majority of the game until mid 3rd period...

Rutherford has let a couple very good goalies go the last few years...
