They would have questioned McQuery but what he said, if anything, would determine if they questioned Sandusky. Police don't go on gossip. They also wouldn't like that McQuery had already discussed it with several people.

The police will investigate an eyewitness to sexual abuse claim. Every single time. What do you think they're going to say, "Well, too bad for that little boy, you already told this story to two other people so we're not going to investigate it." Delusional.

It's hilarious how Penn Staters are so desperate to pin this on McQueary. What is the point in questioning his credibility? What's the theory, that McQueary made it up? Really? That's quite a coincidence, considering Sandusky turned out to be a serial child molester. Regardless, whether he made it up or not, Paterno's own words were that he was told something of a sexual nature was going on between Sandusky and a little boy. Again, those were his OWN WORDS. He never said "I didn't believe McQueary. I thought he was making it up."

So basically, in what, two or three years time, it's like, "Remember that whole child molestation mess and how poorly it was handled? Well, just forget about it and go back to business as usual." The bowls are back, the scholarships are back, the wins are back....the only thing missing is Paterno.

You're delusional. McQuery WAS the eyewitness. The police needed HIS testimony. I said they wouldn't like him talking to people about it. The reason being it could give a defense attorney more opportunities to find inconsistencies in his story.

You can't deny McQuery was a reluctant witness. I don't think McQuery made stuff up per se, but I suspect what he said and when he said it varied over time not only to Penn State officials but to the police. Wasn't his first communication with police in 2006? If he was totally forthcoming, what took so long for charges?

Liberal use of the word "Cleared"

i love the fact that this gets me negative karma
i grew up in state college, graduated from schs and am a 4th generation psu alum...and the fact that something as simple as this gets a negative karma is everything that's wrong with psu apologists.

He obviously knew he wasn't the one to make the decision over what to do; it was much bigger than his pay grade and he knew it. The issue is what did Joepa do after he was at least some what aware over what potentially happened. For him to admit, "I should have done more" says a lot to me.

But that's not what he said! He said "WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT, I wish I had done more"

In other words.. Now that I know what was really going on, I wish I would have stepped up

The only thing getting stripped are the little children.

The head football coach knew that one of his former assistants was molesting a kid in his football team's locker room. .

Which affected the outcome of football games how, exactly? exactly! they didn't. Taking away those wins and stats from the players and coaches was nothing short of the NCAA over-reacting and overstepping their authority.

The wins are restored and Jo Pa is now the winningest coach in D1 NCAA history. 409 forever.

Number of football wins: 409 Number of times he protected a child from spending time with a known pedophile: 0

Yay Joepa.

I should probably rephrase that, I bet JoePa never would have let his kids and grandkids hang out with Sandusky. So I guess he protected a few.

I agree that the wins should have been restored for the KIDS that won those games. I do disagree with all the Rah-Rah people that STILL want to put Joe-pa on a pedestal.
