on to the Second Round and Third

OVERVIEW
D

WEAKNESSES At times, was disastrous in man coverage. Dinged for 614 yards receiving against him. Slow, upright backpedal and clunky when turning to run. Seemed to be too big and lacking in foot quickness needed to play cornerback. Flagged for four pass interferences, a late hit and a personal foul this year. Charged with ten touchdowns allowed over last two seasons. Missed tackle numbers are troubling with 40 over last three years. Allows too much separation and can’t click and close on throws.

Sounds like a perfect fit for our secondary.

(I know, he was playing corner and will be playing safety but I couldn't resist)

Meh these guys can pan out but i think drafting guys for a year or two down the road wasnt what we were hoping for

C'mon, Mad, you are smarter than this. What rookie could have they picked at 25 or 58 that would put them over the top?

Fear not......Cam Thomas is still unsigned

Cam Thomas
Football player
Cameron Jamel Thomas is an American football defensive end who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina

A lot of you guys are high on Davis....Hmmmm. Online he looks line a beast at safety. Hope he transfer that skill to the NFL level.

I guess that can be said for every draft pick ever taken. Right?

I just meant that each of these guys has a flaw that clearly puts them in the project category... I think we were expecting some closer to finished players to give the guys a run in camp.. Maybe they surprise us though

Davis fit better at FS or SS? I had Billings, Calhoun and Bell as my top 3 as we were on the clock. Fits a need, but still kind of a pick that makes you go, meh.

FYI, Del had Davis as his 2nd ranked Safety in the draft. Looks like the Steelers agree!

Is Scott Fujita Asian?

Yeah - he must be in his late 30's now. But then, we're all aging. Oh, you said Asian? Sorry.

Seriously - he was adopted by a Japanese-American family - so not biologically Japanese, but grew up
with Japanese culture and stuff.

I was starting to hope Nassib would fall to us in the third.

Even though many evaluate him as a safety in NFL, Davis prides himself as a versatile defensive back. "I definitely like to play as corner. I got the quickness and speed to play cornerback compared to other DB's out there," he said. NFL teams "know I'm raw (at corner), I only got a year under my belt. But with the right tools, I think I can be a top cornerback." ~ Sean Davis

Don't be too sure they won't work on his backpedal and transition at CB before putting him at FS. He is RAW. He only played CB for one year after playing at safety for 2. He is probably the biggest hitter of all DBs too. Averaged over 80 tackles and led the team in tackles in 2014.
