Official prediction thread Steelers vs Ravens.

Steelers 4-2-1 on the road at the Ravens 4-4

Time Nov 4, 1:00PM on CBS

Odds. Ravens are a 3 point favorite.


Although Coach Tomlin has had the better team for most years his head to head record vs. Coach John Harbaugh is now even in the series. 12-12.

Although I despise them so, the Ravens are usually more than the sum of their parts. They have the ability to overcome lots of injuries thanks to better coaching and excellent special teams play. These dirty Rats play us tough, especially on the road.

Offensive the Ravens ae rated 7th in terms of total yards, and 14th in total scoring. Defensively they are 5th over all in yards surrendered, and 1st overall in points surrendered at 17.1 points against a game. They badly need this win.

At 4-2-1 I’m beginning to think the Steelers are among the best 3 teams in the AFC. This game will either confirm or refute that. The defense seems to be as good as the pass rush. Though keeping Burns out might help a bit, we’ve still got too many problems in coverage outside of Hilton and Haden.

I’m going with a road loss here as coaching, turnovers, special teams play, and penalties will be the difference. The Steelers have been shaky in all four areas, otherwise this team would be a 5-2 team or better.

They're home and were humiliated last week. They're juggernaut defense looked like jugheads. Conner should be a big part of the offense punishing the Rats defense as he did against the Bengals and the Browns.
Beware of Weddle. Al Val will have his hands full as well.
Can't wait.

Oddly the Rats scoring average is exactly 24.6 ppg and the Steeler D's average points allowed is also exactly 24.6 ppg. I'll give the Rats the edge since they're at home.

You need to list a score for the tie breaker. How many points do the Steelers score? How many points do their opponents score? Otherwise anyone who picks the Steelers by two with a lists a score beats you.

I feel we are a more talented team too. But penalties, early turnovers, bad coaching and special teams play hurt our chances.

We aren't playing the Browns this week.

Thanks. Like most people participating I've come close to getting it right. This time, I hope to lose badly.

The Browns to me are a never ending clown show. The Bengals are cheap, self-destructing, and happy to settle for mediocrity. The Ravens, I hate them in the sporting sense. At the same time, I respect them enough to know the Steelers are in for a real fight of a game.
 
Ravens are a three point favorite. That's probably about right. I think Tomlin is outcoached and bonehead plays that didn't matter against the Browns will kill us in Baltimore. Ravens 31 Steelers 28

Steelers 2-0
 
Ravens have lost 2 in a row and will be pissed off and its Steeler week. All that leads to a probable Raven win, but I think the Steelers will buck the trend and put the Ravens in a big division hole. I say we will win 30-24.
