Official prediction thread Steelers vs Ravens.

I hate the timing, Ravens coming off loss, they do not fear us. Let Ben loose and hope we get "good Ben."

Every week scares and concerns me, but especially this week. Rat Birds had been playing really well until laying an egg against Carolina. We dont typically play to well in Baltimore and will need all three phases to be on point in this one. Also our schedule just gets brutal with the exception of the Raiders from here on out. I think this comes down to Justin Tucker or the Bos in the last minute.
So
Us 24
Them 21

Randy Fichtner an upgrade over Todd Haley. He does let Ben be Ben more often, and calls less of those predicable short WR screens.

For whatever reason sometimes Ben is high on passes early, or throws one of those what the heck did he see type of passes that is intercepted. Its usually vs a zone defense over the middle where a DB baits him. I'm sure he knows it, and the coaches have tired to work on it.

While Ben's ability to pull off the near impossible, or escape a QB rush or hit to compete a pass is greater than Brady, he's not as careful with the football. We have to take the good with the bad. He's still a top 5 QB in my book and much younger than Brady and Brees.

I'd prefer to attack the Ravens either with power football ( Nix, McDonald, and Conner ), or by throwing it at least 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. Too many short passes on 1st and 10, or 2nd and long is going to lead to punts.

Steelers 27, Rats 24

Lots of folks on a Rats board picking Steelers.

Steelers 24
Ravens 21

Stillers 31
Old Browns turned purple. 20

Mostly because it's in Balt.

Ben 24
Burt 27

Fingers crossed Burns is late again.

Oh ye of little faith - WE'RE IN PLAYOFF MODE NOW!!!

Yes, the Rats know us intimately but there's a lot on the line for the winner of this game. The things we need to prepare for are simple - keep the running game to a minimum (Lamar Jackson especially) and don't get beat deep by Bert.

Hopefully we see a good amount of the heavy sets (3 TE's) to protect Ben's left hand and we can and will wear their defense front down with the traps and pulling O-linemen...

AB will get his and so will the rest of our receiving corp.

Visiting Steelers - 33
Bert and the Barney's - 14

Hahahaha...The Ravens board has it 13-7-1 Steelers over Ravens.

How come when they do the scores over on the Ravens board do they call the Ravens the good guys?

I thought according to The Steeler Forum we are the good guys?

Ben was high early with his elbow issues. He looked great last game, even with the broken finger.

The scheme is to have their LBs cover. They suck at it. Vance should murder them this week. Switzer should also get more snaps, and JuJu in the middle? They are screwed!

Vance karma Cope.

Vance karma Cope.

He's turning into my favorite TE. I was excited to watch Eric Green, because he was a game changer, and enormous. I never expected anything from Miller, because he was always so consistent, but he made a lot of big plays. Vance is a human highlight real, and better watching him in real life, than watching old Mark Bavaro highlights!

Said it before he's old school tough. I like that he looks to deliver the hit, not take it. And he hits hard and gains good yac.

Go Steelers!

For years this "NUT" job gronkowski has been running the field of play. EVERYONE thought he was so great but left the "benefitting" out of the equation. He is near DONE.

FAST FORWARD

Now you have VANCE roaming the field of play and he is NOT "benefitting" from nothing but hard work and ability. No ref's favoritism / no play stealing / no douichebaggery / on & on & on............... ****, he has to overcome the STEELERS hole the commiss has them in.

I for one am glad we were patient enough and strong enough to get Vance to show his playing spirit. Thanks in advance VANCE.

Salute the nation

It's funny how Flacco looks terrible 90% of the time but plays very well against us.
He knows how to dissect what our defense shows.
We need to change things up a bit. Maybe a little more man-to-man?

I have read others say we are easy to prepare for, but you're right.

The Ravens coaches just might make it easy for Flacco. Throw it when #25, #21, or #34 is in coverage. Also when Bostic or Williams are in coverage, they are pretty bad in coverage to.

Our pass defense is as good as the pass rush. The Steelers lead the NFL in sacks per game. Just imagine what the secondary would look like with an average NFL pass rush. GULP.

On paper we are the better team. But asking the defense or special teams to win a game is asking too much.
