Official Prediction Thread Steelers vs Chefs Part II

So Any Reid coached teams are 19-2 coming off of a bye week (Reg season/playoffs). That's pretty indicative that they'll be well prepared and ready. Ben has actually performed better statistically on the road in the playoffs than at home. 4-2, 9 tds 2 ints. I think the biggest weakness on the Steelers may cost them this game, special teams. Tyreek Hill could very well be the difference, and I think that's where this game will be won/lost.

Andy Reid is also 1-2 in the playoffs with the chefs. I also read some stat that Andy Reid coached teams are something like 2-9 when playing in a rematch in the playoffs when the opposing team won the regular season match up.

The overall point is being off of a bye, which in the playoffs, he's 3-0 as a coach. With KC, they've never had a bye as a high seed.

Bing is giving the Chiefs a 63% chance of winning.

What bothers me is the steelers beat this team so easily earlier this year. The steelers were psych'd to erase their bad game vs Miami and the Chiefs will want to do the same vs the Steelers. Also, that game probably gave the chiefs plenty of film to study and fix.

I'm hoping the field is in good condition. It's always debated, who is helped by a bad field? I think it helps the less talented team, the less explosive team? To me, a bad field acts as an equalizer. It adds elements of uncertainty where a big play team may not get those big plays, and a mediocre offense might get a big play because a DB falls down.

I am not afraid of the chiefs offense. What worries me are the big plays not because a DB gets beat, or the OL makes some great blocks, but a big play because a DB slips or a LB misses a tackle due to the field.

The chiefs like to play lots of man coverage and that is exactly what the steelers love to play against. With the bye, i'm thinking the chiefs will have some new tactics. I'm thinking they will play more zone and force Ben to be patient. He struggles with that but this time he has Bell and that changes things.

I don't think the Chiefs can stop Bell and if you can't slow Bell then you can't drop extra guys in coverage and if you can't do that then somebody is open.

Run Bell and Ben doesn't get greedy and the Steelers should win this.

Just starting to get up and move around for the day. Everything Ive seen on NFL net and ESPN has picked the chefs. Im good with that.

BTW, I like Kurt Warner less and less every time I see him.

Special teams is the difference. Tyreek Whatshisname will score on a kick off or punt.
