Funny thing to me is that only coaching is being blamed for this loss.
1. The PLAYERS had all off season and training camp to get in the defensive playbook and LEARN THE ******* PLAYS/CALLS. Apparently, as evidenced by the chinese fire drill we saw several times, they didn't do that well enough.
2. Scobee missed two FGs. What were the coaches supposed to do, run out on the field with surveyor's equipment and line the ball up perfectly for him?
3. DHB fails to make sure his feet are in bounds on a TD pass. Seems like a mental mistake by a player ... Should the coaches have had to remind him of something we all are taught from biddy league on up?
4. Our starting and reserve DBs failed to record even a single defensed pass.
Seems to me that at some point, no matter how much the coaches prepare them, no matter what the game plan, PLAYERS have to actually perform/execute. Ours didn't and the Cheats' did.
And no, this post is not to excuse the mistakes made by the coaches themselves. However, we've heard and dissected those mistakes over and over. At what point do the players get their fair share of the blame?
problem is their was a decent amount that performed fine
so I can't really buy into it was the players the players !
the players didn't
leave Boykin and Coates inactive and on the bench
put a outside corner in the slot
force a gadget play when momentum was going good
design the schematics inside the 20 on O or D
teach how to get off a WR pick play
force the under performing players to stay on the field
