NHL 2017-2018 season(other teams)

Well, ****.

The last two games, the Bolts seemed to be, specifically, avoiding hitting the Craps. No idea why, when it was working.

I don't know if the physical play intimated the Bolts, but they didn't look like the same team from Sat to games 6 & 7. Where is the F was Kucherov? I had to specially look for him to see if he was playing. He was a ghost. The Craps found a gear that the Bolts couldn't match. We'll see how they do against Vegas.

No team or fanbase really deserves anything until they win the four games needed in the Finals. What do the Caps and their fans deserve? Underachieving and choking for the last 10 years deserves a Cup? I don't think so anyway. I will be pulling for Vegas! Cannot root for the Caps, just like the Ravens. They are douche bags. Their fans, coaches and teams. If they win a ring, good for them, they probably deserve it, but I don't have to pull out the pom poms. I wouldn't watch the last 3 minutes, handshake and trophy presentation. Wasn't interested. Call me a poor sport or whatever. I'm on the Golden Knights bandwagon hard now. Toot toot!

By deserving I mean...

Paid their dues as NHL fans....

They have been through their ups and downs,(especially those that have been Caps fans since their existence in the NHL), more downs than ups, mainly because of the Pens..

Caps fans have also invested much more time, money, and emotional attachment to their squad than the Vegas fans obviously..

I say...no one fan base should experience the thrill of winning, and then hoisting and hosting the Cup in their first year of NHL fandom!

Caps in 6 BTW...

While I certainly agree that an expansion franchise needs to go through the trials and tribulations of losing for awhile and shouldn't get a Cup in their first year, I will make a one-time exception since they are playing WASH. Sorry. lol I can't stand those jagoffs.

The Caps fan base and the DC area hockey fans, are in general more deserving/worthy of the Stanley Cup residing in their town for the next year.

Well if they win it this year we can get the whole "Ovechkin never won a cup" thing out of the way too. I have to admit over the years that the Pens dogged the Caps in the playoffs, especially the last two, I always felt bad for Ovechkin. It would be like the reverse happening in Pittsburgh and Crosby never winning a cup. My problem with the Caps is the dirty hitting and running on players behind the play that Wilson and others, Ovechkin included started doing again the last few games. I think it took its toll on the Jackets the Pens and the lightning as the series went on . If you watched just about every other series this year you didn't see nearly as much of the hard hitting and running on players behind the puck and play as you did when the Caps were playing. At least I didn't.

Don't have a lot of respect for teams that try to beat up the other team and win, like its 1980 again.

PS I hope Reaves beats the living hell out of Wilson about the 2nd or 3rd game.

That alone will be worth watching.

I hope Vegas doesn't try and play run and gun with the Caps. If they do, it is going to be a short series. The Caps still have one demon to exorcise. Marc-Andre Fleury.

I knew the Bolts were gonna lose last night the minute they showed Vasilevski during the warm-ups / anthem. Dude looked absolutely petrified. Never seen a player in any sport look that scared. When the Caps scored 62 seconds in, I told my wife it was over.

I like the Caps in 6 for the Cup. They can skate with Vegas, their pressure is relentless, they are physical like no team Vegas has seen to this point, and they can score in a way that Vegas can't. Do I think Vegas can win? Absolutely. But they are gonna have to be closer to perfect than the Caps, they will have to shut down Washington's offense, and they are going to have to score some goals. This series is gonna be fun. In the end, I think Washington wins. Ovechkin will be the MVP.

Until the past two Tampa games I wouldn't have given the caps a chance in hell. As much as I despise Ovechkin, he played his *** off. He played a strong and physical 200 foot game. He distributed the puck and scored as well. I think the caps will pull this out but will be rooting for Vegas.

It will be interesting to see if the expansion rules change when Seattle joins the league. Vegas had some unique benefits in how their team came together. That said, coaching and hunger go a long way. I think Vegas Organization has done a heck of a job all year. .

He stopped being a selfish puck hog and became a real captain. Still want them to lose in epic fashion. I'm not a fan of first year teams winning it all,but I hate the craps more. Plus they have a few former pens on the team I really like. Flower was all class. I can't help but to root for his success. And in Reaves short time he really grew on me. I think it's the beating the **** out of people, but also having skill to help in other ways I found most appealing.

The thing about Reaves is he fit the room. The guy was with the Pens about he week. He's bustin' on Kessel. Kessel was actually responding to the media. His sarcasm was funny. He served the role that JR talked about all last summer, protection. Irony is Sid never missed a game all season. All intangible's but I thought they were positive, apparently Sully disagreed.

MAF, thanks to expansion and salary cap Pens had no options left. Fleury made the room. Sadly, the change is what he needed. I wish him nothing but success, except against the Pens.

Go Vegas !

Washington, DC is NOT a hockey town. I lived there for 3 years and they are honestly fair weather.

Fair weather fans everywhere man...

The real Cap fans have supported that team through a lot of very bad hockey for years after the entered the league in 1974 with the Kansas City Scouts...

Kansas City didn't support the expansion Scouts...but the DC area did support the Capitals through many lean years...

Lots of serious hockey fans in Virginia and Maryland have lived and died with the Caps since 1974...its not just DC people that are Caps fans..

No kidding. DC folks are way more white collar and aren't the die hard fans.Washington sports have had terrible luck and I hope it continues.

I put the caps fans on a par with the Pens fans of the 80's. Support comes from winning. They both had the same lack luster fan bases until each team had some success. I've been to more caps games than their average fan. You can get lower bowl tickets really cheap a couple hours before the games (until now). I've always enjoyed seeing them take a loss and I like hockey. An hour drive to the metro and get dropped off almost at the front door. Used to be the same with the Pens in the 80's, cheap tickets were easy. I could be there in 45 minutes. This year the wife and I did 11 caps games and 17 Pens. I sat near good fans in both venues. I've sat near idiots in both.

D.C. is not a hockey town yet but if the caps make a good spirited showing or win the cup, it will be. I'm not happy about it. I won't pay serious money to watch the caps. The past couple of years tickets would average 60% less than Pens.

I like hockey too.
Caps fans hate us. Come to be expected whooping that *** 9-2 times in the playoffs. It's a rivalry. I hope they lose. Ovie could be a saint or even Jesus and I'd still hope they lose.
I'll watch as is cause I love hockey. But to hell with the caps.

And every team does have band wagoners.
But that's the fun thing about hockey is the hardcore fans are loyal and want the best for the league/sport:
The caps do have some loyal/hardcore fans.

Just like us over here! :)

But.......

**** the caps

It usually isn't the hardcore fans that are lousy. With social media these days we get the pleasure of reading idiots and click bait, that we never would known existed. I never really needed more morons in my life but it's difficult to avoid. I absolutely want the caps to lose and go down hard.

**** the caps ! Stay all caps and NO CUPS !

Vegas sure knows how to make an entrance. It's a good thing their team is as good as the intro.

Let's go Vegas!
Keep playing speed. Opportunities are opening up.

Reaves is playing lights out tonight.

Love that Reaves gets away with a blatant crosscheck right in front of the Caps net before putting in the tying goal.

The flying Elvises need to score again and play better D
