Proposed rule change to suspend players for various types of tackles. Apparently they're going to keep a running tally all season and suspend you when you have your 3rd incident, you're suspended. From the attached letter, it looks like it carries over season to season. It follows for your whole career apparently.

It says the team can get penalized as well if they have too many violations.

Will these have to be called in game or will they have some intern watch film and fine you for a hip drop tackle the previous week?

I truely do not recognize this game played now vs the 60,,70,80’s.
These players today are so much softer and sustain injury so easily, many times without even being touched.
Yes, these players are bigger and faster and more athletic but they are not nearly as tough physically and mentally.
Today it’s more entertainment than it is pure football. Sad!

NFL is run by ***** cuck lawyers where the focus isn't on entertainment, it's focused on liability and profit.

It's stupid. If they are really concerned about player safety, reduce the number of games. Go back to 14. They aren't, so they dress it up this way.

Nice find tapeANaspirin2it, appreciate all your great post(s) along the way……!

What a cluster-**** this will become. I can see the league targeting individual players and teams.

Just another way to control outcome of betting lines / games.

What’s the player’s association have to say ?

I get the safety concerns, but carry-over from season to season………….. sheeeeeeeeeeeet

Salute the nation

Even the 90s. Remember Blitzburgh? The thing that changed a lot from the leagues perspective was Madden becoming more and more realistic. And with it the ability to turn off injuries.

The generation that grew up with that game will probably not watch on TV or buy tickets if the star QB/ running back/receiver is out. And as was mentioned by someone else the gambling aspect as well.

I think people are pushing their bodies to the extreme now making them more prone to break, especially with the non- contract injuries. If you break a bone, blow a ligament or whatever that does not equate to being soft. Some of the rules I certainly don't agree with and take some of the physicality out of the game, and alot of players are weak mentally. I hope the rule in this post doesn't turn into the way the college targeting rule works. One thing i can't see is after your suspension do you go back to 0 or is any subsequent infraction another suspension.

Jitter, for me the game has changed dramatically but not in a good direction.
It’s all about the money today from the greedy players, owners, and the league as a whole.
I only watch today for sentimental reasons and only watch one team and that has drastically changed in its own right.
My mind goes back to a time when players played for the love of the game, played through injury, respected the game. It was pure back then but today it’s artificial or watered down and hard to watch.
Teams leaving their home cities moving to other areas for mega deals, players making ridiculous amounts of money, stupid rule changes making the game more like flag football, playing games all over the world therefore taking a home game away from the true fan. Making the games so expensive the loyal fan cannot afford to attend a game and the SB, if your team gets in is impossible to attend.
I remember having season tickets to Three Rivers in the 70’s and they were very affordable.
I even could go to the 79 SB in Pasadena it was very affordable. Now, forget it! The SB is all corporate now just like the league intended.
The players are soft and play pretty much for the huge payday and certainly not for the love of the game.
They are bigger, faster, more athletic today but not better football players. Those players from yesteryear were real players. They were tough and played for the love of the game.
Today’s game is too artificial or watered down for me. Stupid rule changes make it more like flag football. I just don’t like the product any longer. I only watch the Steelers and I even have to question myself on that anymore.
