More Tomlin Clock Mismanagement -- Honest to God, I Can't Take Much More

The Rooney Rule. He went in and bullshitted them and he fit their agenda. They knew he was unqualified hence the reason he never was allowed to hire or fire his coordinators, it was always the Rooney's idea to get rid of Arians , etc after Tomlin said he was staying. They thought he would grow into the job but 12 years in and no one knows what he does. He has left no imprint on the team and unlike Belicheck , Harbaugh or even a young guy like Nagy or McVay you never see him on the sidelines in charge and running things. Instead he sits their with his eyes bulging out not talking on the headphones and looking the fool .

Tomlin treats timeouts as if you can also use them to put time back on the clock. I’m convinced he fundamentally does not understand clock management and that it actually makes a difference how and when they are used.

Knowing how and when to use timeouts judiciously really shouldn't be that difficult, should it?

I don't understand how fans sitting in a chair could be screaming at their TV to use a ******* TO but the HC not have enough awareness to know that. His explanation makes no sense. I can't even fathom the stupidity a professional HC would require to come up with something as illogical as that. He wants them to run the ball so he doesn't take the TOs? That is so mind numbing stupid it is beyond words.

Vader, many here have been shaking our heads continous for the past 8 years. I'm with you on the mind-boogling numbness and really think he has himself into a Tomlinisms belief. My question is how does management accept this???? How does he address them durring the season vs the off season???? What just exactly is found so crucial in keeping him on???

Maybe his secret urgentness will be set free starting this weekend. THAT raiders game should have never come down to the ******* timeouts and clock management, that is some of what's being loss here. STEELERS are a hell of a lot better team than Oakland but why didn't they show that??? Prepardiness / coaching / player execution /

Salute the nation

Bradshaw nailed Tomlin as a do nothing cheerleader. The NFL knows he is an empty suit but the Roonets do love their Rooney Rule hire. Tomlin has been making these boine headed decisions for years bit since the team kept winning and the coffers have been full they have made no effort to fire him.

You take that timeout every, single, time. That maximizes your chance to score, and the Steelers wouldn't have had to kick right away. Another 30sec, and you're going for the outright win.

In all fairness, with more time on the clock, the Steelers don't run the hook and lateral, they are running their offense to try and get into FG range.

 Next, Tomlin will be running down the clock so he can astonish us with his last second hail marys.

If they had more time they would be trying to score a TD not a FG to tie. Hard to score a TD when your head case HC only gives you 21 seconds to work with.
