26. Bernhard Raimann OT • Central Michigan
52. Leo Chenal ILB • Wisconsin
84. Jalen Pitre CB • Baylor
155. Mario Goodrich CB • Clemson

MIN 2nd round pick 2023
TEN 3rd round pick 2023
HOU 3rd round pick 2023
ATL 4th round pick 2023

Goodrich a solid later round pick. The first 3 picks are NFL-starter quality. Raimann takes over at RT and will be a superb pass blocker right now, good run blocker. Chenal big, fast, improves run defense TODAY. Pitre and Goodrich both slight projects but have size, experience, and solid college production.

Oh, and as usual, stock up on draft capital to get the next franchise QB. Have 6 of the first 96 picks in 2023.

Pitre is an interesting interesting prospect I think at 84 he would bring excellent value. I almost picked him in my mock. I like his coverage capable.

Yep. Dude likes to hit, will be just fine in run support. Kinda hoping he does not break 4.50 at the combine or he is not going to last until 84.

Round 2 Pick 20: Chad Muma, ILB/OLB, Wyoming (A)
Round 2 Pick 31 (ATL): Akayleb Evans, CB, Missouri (A)
Round 3 Pick 20: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati (A+)
Round 3 Pick 29 (K.C.): Brandon Joseph, FS/SS, Northwestern (A+)
Round 4 Pick 9 (ATL): Leo Chenal, ILB/OLB, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 4 Pick 33 (COMP): Alec Lindstrom, C/OG, Boston College (A+)

Round 7 Pick 4: Cole Turner, TE, Nevada (A+)
Round 7 Pick 20: Aaron Hansford, ILB/OLB, Texas A&M (A+)

Two of my favorite ILB candidates, a legit RT starter, an underrated corner, a WR with elite tools and size, a SS that has excellent coverage skills, and depth at C, RB, TE, OLB. Lots of top-end talent.

Lindstrom actually looks like a Steeler complete with NFL bloodline. Type of player I can realistically see them drafting.

I know nobody is picking the kid because it isn't a position of need but Jermaine Johnson has some nice burst to his game. I could see the kid being a BPA type. Not that the Steelers will look at that position in 1.

This is an interesting draft. Added valuable depth to two areas of need in the third and fourth. Out of curiosity, who else was there in the first?

PFF mock draft simulator

1.20 Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
-Future stud No. 1 receiver.

2.52 Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
-Experience outside and slot. We know the Steelers like versatile players.

3.84 Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana
-The Steelers have one OL from Louisiana, and there is another good prospect. He needs to add weight, but would be a good developmental prospect behind a one-year stopgap at right tackle.

4.138 Rachaad White, RB, Arizona State
-I like Dameon Pierce from Florida and think he can be available later, but White is a top 3 back in this draft class and could be a total stud in the NFL. I don't care about spending a first on Najee last year, the Steelers need a competent No. 2 to share the load.

I have watched exactly 1 college football game since 1985. I rely on you guys to figure out who to draft.

My feeling is we need to fix the oline and dline before we pick a qb. if not we will just waste a year or two of a rookie qb.

No doubt the Bengals regret taking Joe Burrow and not building the offensive line first.

I think Lloyd, Willis, and Dean. My favorite three were gone.

Gordon is one of my favorite players. I think his best football is ahead of him. Really like Williams I just wondered how long until he was back to being 💯 percent. I do feel he wouldn't have been there if that injury didn't take place. I can see a top 10-15 range WR. Another prospect that his best football is ahead. Just two very talented football players.

Yeah the Bengals drafted Joe Burrow number 1. I don't believe we have the number 1 pick , and none of the guys in this draft have his level of talent especially available at the 20 spot. And Burrow is one good hit away from messing up a promising career.

If we had the number 1 pick it might be different.
If you think a QB is a franchise guy, it doesn't matter if the rest of your team is JV level, you take them.

Next year is going to be a waste so it's about getting the highest impact players at premium positions. I'm looking hard at finding top talent at QB, CB, EDGE, and LT. I believe the Steelers value center more than most teams and/or an athletic guard who can pull. Williams could've potentially been the top WR in the draft if not for his injury. I'll take a redshirt year if I get a No. 1 guy.

Hoping they attack the C position in free agency. Just attack the weakest positions and upgrade. I think a part of me is worried they think Green will miraculously become that stud at C. He definitely wasn't trending that way. Not even a little bit.

at 1st overall you have a much better chance at getting a franchise qb vs. 20th overall.

I agree. It's not that I don't like Linderbaum, I think he'd be a great pickup, we just need a leader in the OL room. There are too many young guys and no one is taking charge. You stabilize the middle and I'd expect Dotson to improve and live up to his potential. I hope Moore develops like they think they can, but hope isn't a plan, it's a way to get guys fired.

I'm not sure if I agree with SF448 or Blitz...maybe both. The Bengals pulled the trigger on Joe Burrows, as they should have. However, he had his career nearly ended by a poor OL which has exactly ONE player left on it from the 2019 starting unit. Michael Jordan, the LG who was bulldozed by Johnathan Allen also allowed 5 hits, 3 hurries and 9 pressures prior to that hit. He was cut a year later. Even with 4 of 5 linemen being replaced, Burrow was sacked 51 times in 2021. It's a dangerous game to play with a franchise QB.

In this draft, we have to take players that we believe are going to be here long enough to shine. IMO, there are no QBs who fit the description of a franchise player. That being said, we should value players who can help our franchise RB shine and take pressure off of whatever poor soul is given the QB spot.

If it were me, I'd value OL, CB, ILB (we need both a mack and buck) and maybe another TE. We can run heavy sets like the Ravens did with Lamar and either run or pass to the TEs. out of run sets. We have a weak WR core left so it makes sense. If we can fix the line and establish the run, we give whatever QB the best chance at success.
