Mike Adams-Could we move him to Guard?

Guys,

I never got a good answer on this. Often when an OT does not have quick enough feet he is moved inside, especially when he is a good run blocker. Why couldn't we move Adams inside to Guard to eventually replace Foster?...or switch him to RG and move DeCastro to LG?

-Zack

It might work but my opinion is that he just sucks and is not an NFL caliber OL. I'd rather move him to the Browns.

rather move him to DE. He knows the quickest way to the QB and can crash down hard on runs.

I'd rather trade him to Cleveland to up our sack count.

his only advantage is his size, so playing RT he uses his reach as his only tool (cause we know his feet don't help him at all and he isn't very strong either). If you move him inside you lose his only physical advantage.

Either he improves as a RT or he won't see a second contract with the Steelers

Not sure why you thought you didn't get a good answer. Several people outlined how moving inside wouldn't help. DeCastro is a RG and moving him for Adams is insane. Adams can't handle the point against smaller DE so putting him inside will only show how physically inept he is. All you are doing is making both RG and LG weaker than what you have now. All this for a bad RT that can't win a starting job against another bad RT in Gilbert. Why screw up the entire OL for Adams?

It's bad enough having Adams and Gilbert at the same position, I don't think I would survive if they were playing on the same side at the same time...

Foster seems to be the long term answer. He's been the LG for years now. I don't think they're trying to replace him.

we should take a flyer on a couple of OL men late in the draft. We might get the next Beachum, or at least someone to compete with Foster

This was my thinking.
Beachum DeCastro Pouncey Adams Gilbert
or sign Michael Roos

Roos DeCastro Pouncey Adams Gilbert

If he could play inside, why move both him and DeCastro? Why not move him to C then, and let Pouncey be the athletic LG we need?

Guys,

Just thinking about the Offensive Guard spot. Foster isn't very athletic and is not a long term answer. Could we move Adams to either RG or LG? Obviously DeCastro would go to LG if Adams moves. Adams is def more athletic than Foster and great in the run game. Hell, maybe RG would be perfect for him.

Thoughts?

Yes, move him to the Toronto Guard. I agree.

DeCastro is better and would play the blindside. If we moved Adams to Guard I don't want him at LG. He can play RT, so RG would be a better fit IMHO.

can he compete at guard? does he have the quickness and stamina? when the game is on the line, can we count on him to hit the wide open 3?

don't know if he would make it, but it'd be worth .... a ...... stab.....

Now that we've heard all the experts I wonder what Munchak thinks?

Why is it simply imperative that one of these threads exists for every ****** player on the roster?

And quit signing your posts with our name. I don't want people to confuse me for you.

Why don't you ask him? Obviously you don't care about what anybody on here says so why even read it? Just go ask Munchak yourself.

Just because he has been ther for "YEARS", doesn't make him good. He is a pile of poop on a line that needs cleaned up. Decastro & Pouncy are the only two legitamite ones, then Beachum. If we somehow got a RT & LG, of starter quality, LOOK out, this line could rock.

Salute the nation

It's what we DO here. Plus it's the off-season. You must be new here. Welcome to SN.com.

I'm wondering if Suisam can take some snaps at QB
