Mike Adams-Could we move him to Guard?

Guys,

Just thinking about the Offensive Guard spot. Foster isn't very athletic and is not a long term answer. Could we move Adams to either RG or LG? Obviously DeCastro would go to LG if Adams moves. Adams is def more athletic than Foster and great in the run game. Hell, maybe RG would be perfect for him.

Thoughts?

rather move him to DE. He knows the quickest way to the QB and can crash down hard on runs.
 
I would think (hope) that if he could play guard, we would have seen him there at some point along his tenure.

I don't know if it's just my old eyes but is Adams a lot skinnier nowadays ?
 
Allthough I am one of the BEST arm chair coaches, I'm not really an NFL coach. All that aside, I'd say no way!!!!

Put Archer in there. He's not doing anything else anyway. :p
 
he did run a pretty good crossing route as a TE last season.
 
Maybe we should move Archer to olb since we are thin at that position and he can't seem to do anything else.

he was supposed to be playing RT at that time, though.
 
Leonard Davis wasa 6"8 360 RG.
We could play DeCasttro at LG the better side for a athlethic G to pull and trap on counters and sweeps and let Foster walk and Adams play RG

Have you people seen Adams play at all? He's getting pushed around by smaller 4-3 DEs. Can you imagine what would happen to him with the big boys inside? You want him against guys like Ngata?

It did seem like he did a good a job blocking as the 3rd TE last year . . .I wonder why they quit using that formation. Hell it sure beats running DRI archer up the middle out of shotgun 3-wide sets!

The 3rd TE (Or the 2nd RT) helped out blocking with Gilbert. He wasn't one on one with big bodies inside. Moving him to RG would be a disaster. He can't handle smaller DE on the outside. He'll get killed inside.
 
He's blocking OLB's and small DE's when he's the 2nd RT or extra TE, however you want to put it. He would get abused by interior Dlinemen, Foster at OG is alot better than Adams ever would be.

Dri Archer is critical to our missing man formations tho...

Better idea than moving Adams to guard, move Adams to CLE. That may help our DL issues
