Yes, we all agree that the Steelers are not very good this season. But it's time to set out with data just how ... boring this team is.

The Steelers currently rank 27th in the NFL in total offense.
The Steelers currently rank 22nd in the NFL in passing offense.
The Steelers currently rank 26th in the NFL in rushing offense.
The Steelers currently rank 18th in the NFL in net yards per pass attempt.
The Steelers currently rank 24th in the NFL in yards per rush attempt.
The Steelers currently rank 18th in the NFL in yards per play.
The Steelers somehow rank 11th in the NFL in scoring. Whee!!

The Steelers currently rank 5th in the NFL in total defense!! Oh, sorry, 5th worst. They actually rank 28th.
The Steelers currently rank 31st in the NFL in pass defense. Yeah, 12 yards better than the defensive powerhouse known as the Bungles!
The Steelers currently rank 13th in the NFL in net yards per pass attempt allowed.
The Steelers currently rank 15th in the NFL in rush defense.
The Steelers currently rank 17th in the NFL in yards per rush allowed.
The Steelers currently rank 20th in the NFL in points allowed per game.

These stats describe the 2025 Steelers to a tee. A coupling middling totals, a bunch of terrible rankings, zero top ten in any category, a boatload of near-the-bottom rankings and absolutely nothing about the team suggests they will get better. The team is bad and worse, really old so a completely sandblasting is needed.

In other words, what is needed is the one thing I can guarantee will never happen with this current group of owners and coaches.

They lead the league in defensive payroll though.

The offense has the least amount of offensive plays (snaps) on field for the season to date

And

The defense has the most defensive plays (snaps) on field for the season to date

Another measurement of how historic this offense & defensive schemes really are.

Just think about that for a moment……………….

Salute the nation

None of this is Tomlins fault though, It's Ben's fault, it's Canada's fault, It's Fichtner, it's Butler, It's Pickett, it's Trubisky, it's Duck, it's Russ, it's Mason, it's Field's fault, it's Kahn, it's Colbert, It's Minkah's fault, Bush's fault, Najeh's fault. Players play remember, I can't believe anyone thinks the 4th highest paid coach in North American sports should have any responsibility for this.

Obviously.

He couldn't get it done with Ben,Brown and Bell. The buck stops with him. What he lacks is personal accountability for anything. All we get is excuses every single year and scapegoats.

This is his baby. This decade plus of mediocrity. That's their identity. Do just enough to get by, and then crash and burn when it matters most.

But it is Tomlins fault along with Rooney and many of those mentioned who did their little parts.
It’s an organization wide problem.

Yeah. There is always an upside.

Does Steeltime NOT understand that Tomlin has never had a losing season!?!?!?

WHAAAAAAT?!?!?!? He's never had a losing season???

That.
Changes.
EVERYTHING.

So funny that no one in the building has the cojones to point out these ridiculous stats for an offense and defense.

MT is the Teflon Don of NFL coaches!

What he lacks is ...
... an IQ above that of a cream-cheese and raisin sandwich on rye toast. And an interest in improving. 19 years people. The world has seen the 'body of work'. Feckless, in a word. Even lazy. I challenge anyone to site an effort, any effort on this dullard's part to improve himself or the team. He's had obscene talent and opportunity and wasted it. The table was set - Cowher's rosters and staffs were good for at least several more rings. Squandered by a DEI hire whose pre-Steeler mediocrity was eclipsed only by his subsequent Steeler mediocrity. Oh, and he's destroyed the brand of one of the cornerstone NFL franchises.

Thank God. I could barely sleep this past August, worried if Cam and clan were going to wind up homeless.

Man I’m so not into the Steelers like I’ve been in the past.
This inept owner who allows this crap to continue by keeping a head coach who is so out of touch with todays’ game it’s just sickening.
The culture has been badly tarnished and we’ve become an afterthought when it comes to a winning organization.
Non losing seasons are not a good measurement for a successful organization. Success is measured in championships which we haven’t been a part of now since 2010.
The owner can offer all the season ending promises he wants, but they are hollow now. His words don’t have much meaning.
The only way to begin to fix this is to completely overhaul this organization at seasons end.
Kahn goes, Tomlin and both coordinators go.
Promote Andy Weidel to GM and let the coaching search begin. Let’s look for a young, innovative coach with fresh ideas and an offensive minded one.
This needs to be blown up!

At the beginning of the season I was ALL IN on Aaron Rodgers coming aboard because it would do one of two things, work out and we would have a great team, or blow up in Tomlin's face and move us one step closer to a time without him...Looks like it's the latter, but not because of Aaron Rodgers, it's just all the other areas that they have neglected to address over and over and over again.

I think the thing that really stands out to me is that we are not in the midst of the pain that was part of the 80s after the dynasty, or the tough years in the late 90s under Cowher, or even missing the playoffs after the 2 super bowls with Ben. We’re talking an unseen streak in over 50 YEARS! Pre Noll. Pre Mean Joe. An entire re tooling of everything from 1933 until Super Bowl 9. Something that the majority of us on here I would guess have not seen in our lifetimes. 50+ years and we continue to sit on our hands and let the “standard be the standard”. The Green Bay game said it all to me. Being in that stadium with another teams fans so loud we had to go on a silent count . I never ever would’ve thought I’d see that. In Pittsburgh. The place that’s been named several times as being best sports city in America. It’s absolutely a ******* embarrassment.
