It's funny, we're winning and Franco and his friends are no where to be found. Guess they don't have anything else to talk about... Winning keeps the trash out lol.

Christ on a caterpillar..
I will give credit to the D they are playing well above what was expected
Hes got little to complain about
Tomlin has the 4th highest win percentage among active coaches. He must be doing SOMETHING right.

The closest he's come to a losing season was 8-8 in consecutive years. Since then, he's 11-5 and counting on this one.
I see, too, what wig says about the defense. We have made a noticeable change in how we approach defense. We've adjusted to the NFL's pussification. Currently, without our best QB, we are still tied for 3rd in scoring and are 4th in points against defense in the AFC - despite our rag tag bunch on defense. We're 7th overall in points scored against the defense league-wide. We've also had the hardest schedule in the AFC thus far.

so, no, Tomlin can't do a ******* thing right. or is that statement now incorrect?
5th game a miracle win against the chargers.
Tomlin could physically **** out our 7th Lombardi at midfield of Heinz Stadium and there would be people here bitching that he had the audacity to not wipe his *** afterwards.
Not sure you're gonna get a lot of clicks with that thread title
That being said, I think even the most stout Tomlin haters, which I count myself among, can agree that he's done a great job bouncing back from that horrific Ravens game and keeping the team together without Ben
This is what I don't get about people that hate Tomlin. If you hate him, how can you NOT give him credit for the SD game? We traveled to the west coast with our backup QB and got a win. We never win on the west coast with Ben and winning with Vick is nothing short of a miracle. It was his call to run and not pass with 5sec left. A run ends the game. He rolled the dice, manned up and we walk out of SD directly because of that decision. Going for the win was his call.
Then turn around and not give him credit on a hypothetical. Uuuhhhhhgggg he wouldn't have pulled Vick, and we would have lost.... Who knows what would have happened had Vick gotten the ball on the 35 with Bell gaining 24 yds. Perhaps he would have been the late game hero 2 games in a row. Who the **** knows?? What I DO know is our 3rd string QB came in and we won. We won with that 3rd string QB that our coach chose to keep when everyone else wanted some random player on the roster. That decision alone gave us one win vs a great Arizona team.
No credit for winning on the road vs the Rams when your franchise goes down. Ummm kay.
I can see it either way for the Ravens game, but I don't fault him for going for it when your kicker can't hit the broad side of a barn from 1yd away. Still he lost, and he'd be the first to take responsibility for that, so I can't disagree with hanging the loss on his shoulders.
Pats game is on him. We weren't prepared defensively, and we still don't know who's starting in the secondary from week to week.
Still to only give him credit for one game is myopic at best and severely biased.

Personally I've never said he was great, I've said he is somewhat above average and 8-8 to 10-6 is his natural state. On the other hand, the bar for head coaches has been lowered the past few years. Rex Ryan keeps getting hired and you have people like Joe Philbin, Lovie Smith, Chuck Pagano, and whoever the Raiders can kidnap at a given moment and force to be their head coach. Expansion doesn't just dilute the talent pool of players, it dilutes the coaching talent as well.I am sorry I just do not see the coaching genius Tomlin. Maybe he is mentally holding the team together or some voodoo stuff, but other than that I am not impressed.
Agree. For specifics what would have impressed me is in game adjustments against the Rams.
Trying to play more to Vicks strengths (roll outs, bootlegs, designed QB runs)
Benching Vick way sooner.
No way I trust Scobee to make a kick longer than the two he already missed. Not Fing up the Ravens game. I know scoobee was terrible, but you have to let him try to kick the game winner and dont run a play forcing vick to make an accurate throw. If you wanted to get cute fake it to bell and give vick a run / easy throw option. Chances are one or the other would have been open.
I'm going to say clock management and the preparation of the team is all on his shoulders. The game itself still has to be executed by the players. So everyone should get a blame somewhat unless you're one of the players in sweatpants. Then you're just an over paid cheerleader. My biggest complaint with Tomlin has been the lack of development amongst the guys that are replacing the veteran players. It just seems the players now, and really the NFL as a whole are not as "talented" as years past. Kinda weird
In the SD game we lost 18 seconds. Sure the officials made an error, but how many coaches do you think would have just stood there and watched the clock tick away?
