Leveon Bell

No way I commit to some ridiculous contract for Bell, especially if Ben retires. If the two sides can’t come to an agreement suitable for both, then I would try and trade him for the best offer made. I would not trade within the division but would entertain offered within the rest of the AFC and preferably the NFC.
If you can’t sign him and you franchise him without trading him, he won’t report if he even reports until right before the season opener. Or he may retire as he says. Nah, not worth the distractions.
He’s trying to set a precedent for revaluation on the running backs at guess who’s expense? The Steelers!
I would think he could bring a late first early second round pick. Use it to draft a quality back.

I hope we can get his absolute best Sunday and going forward as we advance in these playoffs.

If running backs are a “dime a dozen” as I’ve read on this thread, why doesn’t every team have an effective back like Bell?

Also, why in the **** would you trade our most effective offensive weapon to a division opponent like the Browns? Jesus Christ that’s dumb.

Thing is the Steelers have very little cap room next season but almost everyone of significance signed. Then in 2019 they are significantly under ( without a franchise qb albeit). Point is they could restructure a few guys next year to get Bell and then easily afford him. It will be tough negotiations though. No doubt. 4 years? I would prefer 3 but that is probably a non starter. Hes very banged up. Id say if Ben plays next year you need him and you want him all season and committed.

Ben is on the books for 18 and 19. He's off the books in 20.

Also the past 3 salary cap years have had a $10-12M increase each year. I expect the same this year.

I want Bell back as long as the contract isn't a detriment to the rest of the team. I'm sure Ravens fans thought Flacco was irreplaceable following his SB MVP and now look at them after that contract.

If signing Bell long term means we're stuck with Mitchell and Vince as starters on D and have no viable options for a successor to Ben then I think the smart move is to trade him. However if the cap rises and you can still fit Bells contract in with a couple decent FA signings to fill a couple holes on D or believe you can find those upgrades for cheap in the draft, then you keep him.

Bell by himself isn't replaceable with another RB 1 for 1, but using that money to upgrade the rest of the team could more than make up for his loss and put the Steelers in a better position for life after Ben (which could be as soon as next season).

Bell is more important if and when Ben leaves. Bell forces the defense to honor all play action fakes and is an excellent check down reciever. Pay him his money.

Give Bell his $15 mill a year. **** it. It isnt my money and he is one of if not the best back in the game. I personally hate all the drama our stars throw out all the time. It is just how it is anymore. The bottom line is they are talented ....very talented. Hopefully if we extend him it keeps Ben around. And I'm not just talking about Ben's current contract....but a few years after this one runs out. I think Ben will play another 5 years if he thinks the team has a shot at the SB every year.

He allready turned down a contract that GAURANTEED 30mil in the first two years so 15mil isn't going to do it. Probably 17-18.5 raNGE AND GAURANTEED 3years with a 4-5 year contract. WAY to much with the risk he brings.

Oh and as for the tag goes,.........he won't show till week 10.

Imagine how much he will demand when he goes for 200 yards and 3tds in the SB win.

TOTALLY hope you're right and that demand, price wise, would give him an escort right out of town.
