Le’Veon Bell: Greedy or Misunderstood?

I'm sorry but if the nfl can pay elliot like a boss and he hasn't done half of what bell has for his team. Than Bell needs paid. Its not greed when the nba pays out over a billion dollars on the first day of free agency. Bell brings alot to the table when you got other running backs out there just straight out sucking week in and workout. Big Baller deserves his cut of the pie.

Of course Bell needs to be paid. Everyone here agrees. But if we just let players name their price and give them whatever they want, no matter how unreasonable, then it cripples the franchise. That's not how you build winning TEAMS, but it is how you keep individual star players happy in the moment. That is, of course, when it comes time to pay your other star players and you can't because you gave all your money to the last guy who made unreasonable demands

And to answer the original question, Yes, and No.

July 25th ( when camp opens ) is not too far away. Is Mr. Bell going to sign on time?

Part of the problem on why the Steelers underachieve is some of their star players just aren't leaders, they are the opposite of leaders.

Someone didn't mark July 16th on their calendar...

I'll give him until camp opens. We have a New OC. If he valued his team mates and winning, he should sign before then.

Camp opens on the 25, with the first practice in pads on the 28th. Clue me in again on why Monday the 16th matters.

July 16 At 4:00 p.m., New York time, deadline for any club that designated a Franchise Player to sign such player to a multiyear contract or extension. After this date, the player may sign only a one-year contract with his prior club for the 2018 season, and such contract cannot be extended until after the club’s last regular season game.

For the 3rd time coach. If Bell isn't signed to a multiyear contract by the 16th, he will not sign until the end of the preseason.

Preseason Week 4 to be exact. Don't be surprised if it happens again...

You answered your own question. You are clueless.

If you haven’t figured it by now you never will.

I’m trying to understand where LevBell is coming from and to a degree I do. I get that he entered the league at not the best time foe RBs and therefore got screwed with his rookie contract. He sees guys like Zeke Elliott and Todd Gurley come in
after he was drafted few years later to much better contracts and I think he’s trying to make up for those early years. Understandable, but in fairness to the Steelers, they did try and help him recoup some of that money with the franchise tag last year.
I think if the team offers a five year 60 million dollar deal with 30 million guaranteed and thats what it will take to sign him. That makes him highest paid RB by almost double at least until Gurley and Zeke resign and he will have reset the market as he has. I think he is being greedy to a degree but understand this may be his one and only opportunity to cash in.
And I really do not want to lose him. He means far too much to this offense and you will see a difference without him in the backfield. Trust me!

I look at it a bit different. Bell lucked out that the tag figured in Peterson's contract. If it didn't Bell just might have a gripe.

They made him a great offer last year and apparently made him a better offer this year. It's all in his court. If he doesn't sign, he is obviously a greedy ****.
