As the saying goes, pick two, you don't get all three.
As far as Timmons goes, all three are easy.

He's a cold weather guy...Never seen blowing chunks in three Burgh..... bring him back...
If they are better and younger, seems unlikely they will be cheaper. If they are cheaper, seems likley that they are either older or not better.
Younger and faster is good...Shazier, the best yet. But in his absence (Shazier) Ilb to stop the run.I agree.
Harrison > moates + chick and we saw what happened there.
Timmons is what 32 or 33, time to move on with younger faster

We need ILBs that can run sideline to sideline, Timmons can't do that. Chicago and Jax ran off tackle and outside the tackles with a ton of success, especially to our left side.Younger and faster is good...Shazier, the best yet. But in his absence (Shazier) Ilb to stop the run.

I should add that this is, in general. With his years, vet min might be quite high? I dont know what it is.
Ark, I know a lot of us here scream "vet minimum" and speaking for myself, don't really know that dollar$$$$ number. Yes I speak out of my *** but am to lazy to look it up. Taking just a guess I'd venture 2.75-3.75 million..........??
Salute the nation
I was guessing higher for someone in the league as long as he has might be higher, but zero knowledge of such

Timmons coming back would be a huge savings in what we were paying him. A $10M LB coming back for 3-4M? In a heartbeat. Plus he's like 8 years younger than Debo...
Still remember Farrior getting burned his last two seasons. When these guys get over 30 at MLB they just aren't the same as the young pups. Its time to move on.
And we got Farrior from the JETS i think as a free agent.
At the time the deal took place, Farrior, who was originally drafted by the New York Jets with the 8th overall selection in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Virginia, was 27 years of age and coming off of a season that included him registering 142 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles.
The Steelers were able to sign Farrior to a three-year contract with a base value of $5.4 million that included a $1.7 million signing bonus. Farrior, however, stood to earn a total of $7.05 million over the course of the three years as another $1.65 million was available to him in the form of NLTBE (not likely to be earned) incentives that were tied to playing time and league honors. Reports at that time indicated that Farrior could earn $450,000 each season should he play in 85 percent of the team’s defensive snaps and an additional $100,000 per season if he were to receive certain league honors.
so yeah this is what i was talking about when i said i want all three.

True, but if you look at the first Jags game, we held him to under 4ypc and he was at 80 yards until he ripped that 90 yarder at the end when we had everyone at the line desperate to make a stop. Not saying I want Timmons at all....but didn't we have that sideline to sideline in ILB the 1st time we played the Jags and against DaBears? Our run stopping D scheme was flawed as well as the lack of improvement from the NT spot.

Shazier had a bad game vs Chicago for sure.
I agree, as I said earlier in this post, we need to add so beef up front so we can have a minimum of 3DL on the field at all times, and rotate them to keep them fresh and hopefully give a little more room for our LBs to run.

i know,, i agree. Im not talking about signing an old farrior, or an old timmons.
I'm talkin about the farrior "DEAL"
While true, Hargrave was playing well and then he got a back injury and his play fell off, and he's only a 2nd year guy. We need another guy similar to him so we always have that size in the middle with Heyward and Tuitt. If you look at beef up front, we have Heyward and Tuitt signed long term. That leaves the weak link in the middle in Hargrave. I also think we have a huge issue at LOLB in Dupree. He can't contain for ****. Its time for an upgrade there as well.
The LBs need to fill the gaps in our defense and hold contain. A lot of those runs went right at Dupree. Even when Shazier was on the field we had problems stopping the run. There has to be a better answer to this problem. While true, Hargrave was playing well and then he got a back injury and his play fell off, and he's only a 2nd year guy. I agree, Dupree looked bad lately, especially the playoff game. The biggest bust of that game was Heyward and Tuitt, our highest paid defensive guys, and they did nothing
