Late games - if you're interested...

Yes,I remember having that argument last season with a member on here. I was saying how great of a season he had with Minnesota. He was saying anyone could be great with their WR’s and that McCarthy would be just as good. Even though he hadn’t played one down in the NFL. I just laughed. He said the same about Goff a few years ago.

Jerry Rice had Montana and Steve Young sling the pigskin as well. It certainly helps.
Was my biggest free agent want, along with Stafford. But never thought the team had a chance in Stafford.

I do blame Mike more than Omar and Andy for Aaron over Darnold. I was right there ( my Cooch shameless brag)

Yep…..I wanted Sam too. Interesting tidbit about Sam…..his grandfather was known as Dick Hammer. One of the greatest names ever.

Not only was Darnold's grandfather, Richard Hammer, a Marlboro Man but he also was the original captain in the TV show "Emergency" and was a real L.A. firefighter. He also competed in volleyball in the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Slash… I remember you and I as pretty well the only ones on the board that floated the idea of getting Aaron Rodgers before he signed with the Jets. With many on here saying how much they hated him.

The Rams look pretty effing good.
I literally just looked at my wife and said, I hate watching teams like this. She asked "like what?", teams with creative offensive schemes that scheme their playmakers open in space. The Rams, IMO are the best team in the league, their D is legit too.

Yep he wasn’t in decline and would have fit much better then. The coaching on this team isn’t good enough for game managers (AR of now), but still AR brings the ability call out of the conservative bullshit with his own play. Unfortunately his decline and injury is worrisome now.

For me what is the point of force feeding either QB now when we know what we have with Mike ? One is a career backup the other hobbled and in decline.

I think pursuing a .500 outcome is silly. Everyone knows nothing more than that is obtainable.

Why not see what Howard can do? Give him all the snaps this week and rest AR’s injury. As a not 100 percent healthy AR you would think can’t be much better than Rudy if at all.

Sam with no weapons and being held back in this scheme wouldn't have gone over too well.

Bucs just need to take the loss and sit Baker the rest of this game. He's already banged up.

According to him it was always going to be Seattle. Don’t forget Geno Smith had some good yardage stat years with Seattle. They threw the old pigskin around. Much better scenario for him. Obviously he made the right decision for his career.

This would've been 3 weeks worth of production if he stayed with the Steelers. He was bound to blow up in Dallas' offense.
Not sure I agree.

We all have seen George's YAC. We've seen is spectacular catching radius.

You said it yourself, there would be no problem with George, if you feed him the damn ball. None.

Read his second half stat line again - 9 catches 147 yards. DK can't catch 9 balls consistently let alone eclipse a 100 yards receiving.

Pitiful...

The wild card is DK how he would have interacted with him and AR. I tend to think Pickens could have statistically bounced off that well. Problem is the reason he was shipped off. Mike and co. had enough. These statistical hypotheses are all warm and fuzzy convos but the what if wasn’t going to happen. Once the Steelers close the book on you that is it.

Darnold would not have had success here. Rodgers has a better arm and better at reading the D. The only thing Darnold has is more mobility. Darnold would not be good under the pressure the line gives up My pick would have been Daniel Jones because of his size and mobility. I think he could have run our HS offense as good as anybody. As far as Pickens goes it is impossible to project how he would do here. People were saying the same thing about Pickens as they are about DK now. "Pickens is a head case, not a #1 WR, etc etc....." We barely throw to DK so can't really blame him. We do seem to have guys open they are just missed or not thrown to. We have 3 capable TEs who should have feasted over the middle with the Bears missing up to 5 LBs. Instead we used Smith like a RB and Washington we used as an OT to block an elite pass rusher. Genius moves

Statistics do not support that in the here and now. Darnold is top 5 in deep ball accuracy in the NFL.

I meant in terms of just arm strength. Rodgers chucked a 70yrder this year. Darnold does have a stronger arm than I thought though said he has a 63 air yrd completion this year

Pickens is working it. Imagine what he could do with some of our 2-5 yard routes.

I’m loving this because it is shining a national light on how dysfunctional the Steelers are. Talking heads (except for the beautiful yet daft Kay Adams) know he’d never put up these numbers in our JV offense.

I think my whole point was about who the Steelers could have gotten in FA. I have nothing against Rodgers and he will be an automatic HOF inductee. Unfortunately at this juncture in his career he’s not exactly playing with reckless abandonment. In fact it looks like he’s playing to protect his retirement years. Happy feet, locking on to one WR for quick throw, and many times throwing too quick. Even when there is no pressure. Darnold had a very good season in Minnesota, and it’s happening again in Seattle. Obviously he would not have the same players, but I’d take a 28 year old in his prime signed for 3-4 years rather than A 42 year old at the end of his career. We have to go through this whole QB crap again next season.

DK had two plays yesterday running open across the middle for big gains if the QB throws his way.

Pickens averaged 3.4 receptions and 55.7 yards per game with the Steelers. This puts the three-game average at 10.2 receptions for 167.1 yards, slightly better than his stat line yesterday.
