Kahn vs. Colbert

Including the draft just completed, Khan’s drafts have left a lot to be desired. And I’m upset the teams always seem to know what we want to do. Like there’s someone in our organization leaking out draft specifics.

Regarding the majority of this draft, the theme was an average of 1.5 rounds early or a geriatric’s sex life. As for the little George Smiley novel you’re spinning, it’s Hanlon’s razor. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” Some people are just more competent than others.

Omar just completed his 4th draft as the GM.
Colberts first 4 drafts included Hampton, Bell, Simmons, El, Hope, Foote, Keisel, Troy, Ike, Ben, Starks. 10 Super Bowl starters.

Again there is no comparison, like I said before, let me know when Kahn drafts a HOF player.

Some guys were good in their era, but when the era changed, they didn't evolve. That was Colbert, and in a greater sense, the entire Steelers organization.
Colbert used to regularly draft HOF'ers but around 2007 something changed  and suddenly he wasn't as good.

Some say HC are not that big of influence, I disagree.

Cowher left, Tomlin entered and drafting went down hill from there.

I’m sure there are other factors, but is definately one of them.

Salute the nation

They fired Tom Donahue because he drafted Troy Edwards when Cowher wanted Jevon Kearse. Coaches have a huge say.

Is it?

Last i checked you're just a chump like me.
I may be, but I am smart enough to realize the comparison has zero to do with anyone's opinion. Just numbers. Nobody's opinion changes the statistics. Some of the talent Colbert drafted was league best statistically, best to ever wear B&G historically. let me know when kahn does anything close.

Say what you want about Tomlin years. Don't tell me he didn't have the tools. The Killer bee's, TJ, Kahn, let alone any GM in the league, will ever put that level of Talent on the same field, Not in our lifetime.

And what did Shades do with that talent?
I’m counting 3 playoff wins in 15 years.

I’ve said it a several times here that Cowher and Colbert worked very well together but Tomlin and Colbert did not.
I’ll add this… Never been a Kahn fan. Thought it was a typical Art hire putting him in this position. They needed to keep him as the Capologist which he was good at and made Andy the GM who worked in Philly under Howie Roseman.
Regardless of how this first round debacle turns out which doesn’t matter how successful either of these two draft picks turn out, the process was totally embarrassing for the team. That’s the point!
Kahn had a wealth of draft picks to barter with if Lemon was the desired target. He could have been on the phone with Carolina at 19 or Detroit at 18 when they started to go on the clock.
Wouldn’t have cost a great deal to move up 2 or 3 spots, most likely a third and fourth if that.
He sat on his hands, called the draft pick before his team was even on the clock and showed his hand.
Philly sitting a couple spots behind the Steelers got wind and moved right in. ******* stupid and careless.
Four years at his job you simply cannot make these mistakes. Got played by the much better GM.
