Jordan Berry missed the call

what about late in the game, Arizona has one timeout, it's second down, we are at their 15, we call a pass play that's incomplete that runs 3 seconds off the clock and saves them a timeout. Run on 2nd and 3rd down, we are well in FG range, force them to use their last timeout, then run clock before kicking the FG, leaving Arizona with around 55 secs on the clock, instead they had around 1:45 when they got the ball back.

How about an alternative view. The screen (which is essentially an extended handoff), runner scores and we’re up two scores, as opposed to being up six and leaving the door ajar.

The pass has to be clearly there though, or you take the sack. It’s not a terrible call, but agree you can’t throw an incomplete.

Not disagreeing on the call, just pointing out on how all of you Tomlin Haters get triggered over one play, when the overall coaching performance netted a big win.

The Joe Piscarcik fumble was only one play too. If we'd have lost, this would have been right up there. One epically stupid call can change a game and a season. A coach in his 12th season should be above a mistake of that magnitude. Our coach is not - obviously.

It's not an extended hand off. It's a pass. With a bunch of guys at the LOS with their hands up and DBs attacking. A hand off keeps the clock moving with almost certainty. It not a bad call. It's a ******* horrible one. He can talk dumb **** about living in fears but that is what it is. Dumb ****.

Your alternative view is not realistic, because there were 3 or 4 Cardinals ready to jump on Johnson at the line of scrimmage even had he been able to catch the ball. It was a poorly designed play to the short side of the field with next to zero chance of scoring.

And it was clearly NOT an "extended handoff," because a handoff cannot be incomplete and therefore stop the clock.

I'm a hater for calling out that stupidity? That's weak, even for you Cope.

Reading comprehension. I'm not disagreeing that the call is stupid, it was.

I'm stating that that one play makes it impossible for a lot of fans to see the incredible coaching job needed to win that game on the road.

My friends has a chicken coop. He brings me fresh eggs 2 times per week. They are amazing! I am eating them right now with a lb of peppered bacon. Today is going to be a good day.

I don't think it has that result. People can still see he is doing a good job even with pointing out the negatives. Cope I also think it is less triggered fans and more cautious fans wanting better results. I think in this board there is a continual tug of war with two sides regarding Tomlin. But at the end of the day each fan wants a win and more importantly a playoff win. Until Tomlin wins another playoff game there will continue being skeptics. I really can't blame them for that. We all have a different level of tolerance. Again I think it is possible to enjoy a coaching job enjoy a season and still want more and point out flaws. We know too many of those flaws can prevent the team from going ultimately where they want to go.

The Steelers were favored to win that game, no incredible coaching job necessary.

Doesn't matter. A fake should never have been an option in that situation.

Like I said for years, we have a good team that wins in spite of Tomlin. Coach of the year, my @ss. I'd give it to the coach of the 49ers, or the Rats.
